I may just stick with EA Access rather than buy the game. I can get all of the others and stay updated for 5/month.

One thing i've already noticed is that you can celebrate with subs on the sidelines so that's one improvement I guess.

Also curious to see how polished the new slide tackle mechanics are.

Been messing around with the FUT draft mode. I seriously can't wrap my head around the idea that you can't play it against your friends.

Typical EA to implement stupid shite like this but leave a lot of other game mechanics completely broken.

It would be cool if they have some sort of different Career Mode where you run the finances of the club. Like you can save money for a new youth training facility or stadium upgrades and they would let you set the transfer budget.

Like you have $50m and you can allocate like 10m to youth facilities and 10 mil to stadium upgrades so your budget is down to 30m. They could give you incentives for upgrading your facilities by having more youth players work out if you have a state of the art youth facility or have more fans and more money come in if you upgrade your stadium, etc.

Seems like it would give new depth to the game.

Stadium upgrades were part of the game in the 2007 version if I recall correctly.

So they've added a stadium that probably won't even be used in real life this season?

Yeah I did earlier. Didn't feel really all that different. It just felt a little slower and the shot accuracy wasn't as good.

They need to just add the whole league, FFS.

Do you have to be an Xbox live gold member to get the demo today?

Of course I'm away from my Xbox One till Friday (in Vegas, I know know sucks right) so I can't try the demo yet but the FUT draft has my mind blown without seeing it in action.

How do you draft players in FUT? I mean they are going to just give me the cards for the guys I draft? Seems highly unlikely. What am I missing?

You pay coins or points, draft a team, play up to four games (think tournament), receive a reward based upon how you do (packs, as far as I know), and it resets

Okay so they only have 20 teams worth of players to choose from in the demo, but it basically goes like this:

- First they give you 5 options for formations
- You then choose from 5 normally high level players to be your captain
- After that you then pick a player out of group of 5 again for each player, your subs, and your reserves.

In the demo you only get to play against the teams they have listed in the game.

I'm looking forward to messing around with it once it comes to EA Access, so I get a better understand of the full depth to it.

I'm not a big fan of FUT, but I could see myself playing this quite a bit.

eta: And now reading the post above mine I am suddenly 100% less enthused to play it

Like the demo so far, they've slowed down the gameplay a lot and 1-on-1 defending is actually doable again. Build-up is rewarded a lot more and it seems like they finally nerfed long balls. Haven't messed around with the FUT draft thing yet but it seems intriguing.

Also shout out to myself for calling for an RAC song in the game in the other thread and immediately hearing "Back of the Car" after starting the demo . Didn't recognize the other couple of songs I heard but they were the typical indie pop earmworm-y stuff FIFA usually has.

Played a few with the demo tonight. On legendary difficulty, the fullback AI is what stood out to me the most. Can't just beat someone down the side with a good through ball and pace. You get rewarded for building up, like Dumpster here said.

It might just be the better vibration feel on the controller, but the ball physics seem to have improved a good deal...passes and shots have a lot more weight to them instead of just some ping pong shots.

Also like some of the new audio they gave Martin and Alan. The crowds sound a lot better, too.

I'm pretty pumped now, but something incredibly frustrating will definitely bug me in this new and improved career mode, I can just feel it.

I REALLY, REALLY like the feel of FIFA 16. When I saw defenders cutting off the gaps and defending the lobs at a decent quality, I almost wept. Shooting feels MUCH better than in FIFA 15. Similar to FIFA 14, but not as easy. There's weight to the shot, which I really like. Passing seems decent enough. Players also feel "unique". I had a rocket of a volley with James, and I was insanely hard to knock off the ball with Hazard. That's a difference from the past few years where every Hazard from normal Hazard to TIF Hazard got smacked off the ball with ease. I like it. They just better not nerf it once the pace kids get upset that they can't hold RT and smash Y constantly like they did FIFA 15.

Overall, the improvements to the AI and "feel" alone are enough to buy the game for em. Add in the ability to Wambach a bitch or two, and I'm all about it.
