Everything about this match was Everton of last year. Just complete lack of energy, hustle and urgency. It’s not that we weren’t creative going forward.... we couldn’t go forward in the first place. The drop off from our starting XI to this bunch is immense.
Gomes, Siggy, and don’t get me started on Delph. You could see the frustration on Allan’s face trying to sort out these arseclowns and get them moving to the right position.

A sustained run of good form mid-season is just...refreshing.
Seems like in-season upswings have been pretty brief and muted lately, and this is something that feels much more genuine. I don't expect we'll remain this close to the top, but nonetheless, it's nice to be a genuinely competitive club over longer stretches (and even battling some absences).
Certainly hope Carlo is enjoying us as much as we're enjoying him.

Really is amazing what a proper manager can get out of a club. Never too high, never too low, just steady and solid performances. Even if bumps in road always feel confident you’re still headed in the right direction. And agreed, I hope he is enjoying his time at the club and feels appreciated.
