I can’t think of any other teams that are playing better right now. (Or is it just their competition) That looks like biggest game so far along with the loser goes home games (Nigeria vs Argentina, etc) What say ye Football experts? Who Am I missing, who is playing possum ?

Thursday at noon. Set your DVRs or take a extra 30 minute lunch break and catch it at your favorite pub. (Make it fun and Belgium fans buy round per English goal vice versa)

Although neither are playing particularly well right now, there is a good chance that Brasil and Germany will meet in the next round. They are the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the world so they can definitely go on a run and win it all.

This is just the first round. I wouldn't go all in on Belgium and England quite yet.

ETA: I misread, I thought you were matching England and Belgium up in the next round. Forgot that they are in the same group.

Don't expect fireworks. Not much of an incentive to finish first when you look at group H standings.

It'll probably be a boring game of both teams being very defensive to try not to lose.

I'm looking forward to Mexico vs. Sweden and Germany vs. South Korea. Still have 3 teams alive to move on.

I agree 100% but it’s big for England to finally have a good start. Until this year last decade or so they were not really any better than us.

Germany is still very very dangerous. Brazil always is but they are both playing like shite right now. Germany was 15 seconds from being out.

Both of them have serious issues defending. They are getting opportunities and may start turning those into goals but I don’t think they can fix those defenses in time.

But who knows soccer is a strange game but it has to be the most momentum dependant sport on the planet.

Did I miss something? Why would either team give a shite at playing when they (and Russia and Uruguay) are through to the next round? Nothing about any potential First Round opponents should worry either of them to the point where winning the game means avoiding to play someone.

Also, way to ruin a great later game by putting the two groups of death (E and F) up against each other in the first round.

Its random.

Names out of pots.

And I'm.glad there are a couple of meaningful must win games involving traditional powers early.

Both countries are cucked as hell now. Very sad - I haven’t decided who I’ll (reluctantly) support

Looking forward to a flurry of bookings if the game is tied and people decide they want to finish second
