I'm certainly not a Messi fan but if you are going to take him out you better by God be sure his arse is on the sideline for the rest of the game when you do it. He is definitely the type of player that will make you pay if you don't

Maybe not but you have to take into account the studs up challenge from Ramos too......anything like that that gives extra motivation to a player like Messi is just asking for trouble.

ETA I know that we were originally talking about the elbow which regardless of intent did draw blood....and when people see their own red it certainly brings a heightened level of emotion regardless of intent....BUT like I said all things should be considered.

I agree intent matters but my general feeling is that Marcelo is usually nothing but class and Ramos nothing but trash...

Both great players though.
