Dude, he's married. Give it up. It's time to move on.

I believe he can choose us when he gets citizenship in 2017. But England could call him up by then. Does anyone know of why Dwyer came to the States in the first place? He's clearly good enough for the championship and probably some lower table Premier League teams.

no chance

England doesn't call anyone up not playing in England.

he was let go after his youth days mostly due to being injury prone

Probably will.

Absolutely not. Not even in dreamland.

Some program where they get kids scholarships to colleges.

Good thing he is still here then.

In the past couple of years he was wanting to go back to England but now that he is married and is closer to his citizenship than he was in the past, I would assume that he is perfectly happy staying in KC for a while. Recently he has stated (maybe not so publicly, I don't know) that he would like to get his citizenship.

Now whether he is good enough for the USMNT is a good question...

His biggest asset is his energy and work rate in my opinion. He fits perfectly into the club's high-pressing system although I'm not sure how that would translate into the USMNT's style of play. He is a very good finisher but I wouldn't say he is lethal in front of goal. It's true, he hasn't scored as often this year but that is mostly down to the fact that he hasn't needed to. Last year he was the only goal scoring threat but SKC has more goal scorers this year due to signing Nemeth and the contribution from Feilhaber.

I think he is a fringe USMNT player at this point but he would definitely deserve a few call ups.

This is what I was trying to get at with my response, he'll be 26/27 by the time he's eligible and while we're not loaded with attacking talent it seems like it would be an uphill climb for him to get worked into the NT system at his age/talent level even with our history of taking guys from outside the US.

Then again I am talking out of my arse (as I often do) because I watch like 2 MLS games a month and have probably watched his wife play soccer more than him so I'll take y'all's word on him possibly making it.

If he would take that route, I think he gets a call up or two. I don't think he really comes in hot, though. We just need to get him locked down to impregnate Leroux and get their kid into the U-3rd Trimester squads so they're in the system early.
