Do they keep Sturridge, Suarez and sterling ? If they get some defenders during the summer they will be a very tough out next year

For sure and they will be spending around 60+ million quid this summer to upgrade their roster

John Henry and the FSG have done a great job since taking ownership of Liverpool. Got the right manager, invested well, and are looking strong favorites to win the league after a few patient years of rebuilding.

ETA: "Invested well" - eventually they got it right, after Brenny came in and picked his guys. Not so much at first though

I think they do, but there's always a chance someone could come in with an absurd bid. Especially with sterling and Henderson breaking through attracting some big club interest.

I think we all know Suarez only leaves for a Real, Bayern, Barça type.

Yeah, I could see them selling either player if the price is attractive enough.

Yep, and they'd get a massive payday from it.

I'm sure Real and Barca will show Suarez interest but I don't really foresee any Bayern interest. They need to spend the summer finding center backs.

No way either of these guys leave... No one will offer the kind of money it takes to sell these players... you can add Studge to that mix too

I think Suarez will stay at least one more year (maybe longer)...

We typically only sell players we want to keep to big foreign clubs (Barca, Real) or for high £ (Torres)... and even FSG have realized quickly, selling to your direct rivals is not good business...

I can see Real bidding for Suarez, but that's the only player who could even possibly leave, and that's a very remote possibility. Liverpool is already a big club so I expect they will ship out a lot of their average players in midfield and defense, and attempt to find a player to replace Gerrard long-term.

OK, so the price won't be attractive enough then.

Yeah and I really don't think there are that many Liverpool players who would be huge targets of the major European clubs -- that's not a diss on any of them.

I think Real will try to woo Suarez again and I think Barcelona will probably get involved since they're likely going to go bananas this summer.

An under-the-radar guy that might draw attention is Coutinho but I don't know if he'll be playing at the WC. If he does get time, he could make himself a lot of money.

The only possible reason I could see Suarez leave is that Real is closer to winning the CL than Liverpool is. A front line of Suarez, Bale and Ronaldo is video game level.

Ive read a few times that Real is monitoring Coutinho too.. In stuff I have read, I think there is a sense of wanting to play in the CL with LFC this season coming up, after getting them there this year...

Messi, Suarez and Neymar would also be sick... give Barca that different dimension they really need..

Coutinho is very good and young, and I'm sure Ancelotti thinks he can mold him into a new Kaka. I don't know about his defensive work rate though, which is paramount in the 4-3-3.

Barca need players who don't ask for the god damn ball to their feet in front of the defense. They need runners.

it's come on leaps and bounds this year... I actually think he's better in this role than as a 10...

I still think LS would give them a dimension they don't have... I think they have runners, they just don't use them as much (Pedro, Tello)

Which is silly. I'd take a punt on Pedro in a second.

More than anything Liverpool need to revamp their defense and add quality depth. They have greatly benefitted this year from not having to concentrate on the CL and no major injuries aside from Lucas. Arsenal and Man City provide examples this season as to what injuries can do to a team, Liverpool does not have enough depth to make deep runs in two major competitions imo. Liverpool haven't been in the CL for a few years so they will take the competition very seriously and go for a deep run, they'll need way more depth for that.

Yeah, I've been a fan of Pedrito's game for a few years. Just think he may not fit in with what they want to do.

After watching five no 10's pass the ball around in front of the defense for half of this season, all I want is runners. I don't see how possession based teams don't stock up on runners like Pedro. With the way teams use space horizontally, nothing creates more space for attackers than vertical movement against a defense that wants to compact the space.
