Depends on the club. Give us an example.

Top 4 or 5 club team, but not "any decent" club team.

would you get to clone players? like, could there be two little Messis running wild if Argentina played Barca?

Considering how much time clubs spend together vs. countries, yeah.

well in that case, i'd say put the semifinalists of the WC against the champions league semifinalists and let them all battle it out. i think the top nations could beat the top clubs potentially. it would be close, though

Would vary between years, I just gave a general estimation.
There have been years with a lot of GREAT EPL teams and other years with only 2 or 3. But I am no soccer expert.
But to answer you, I think Man Utd would beat most teams in the world cup, but would be a solid match with the top dogs.

Its all about how long they've played together. Top club teams have a core group that have played together since childhood.
World Cup squads are still feeling each other out.

yeah in a lot of years like this year, i think this is the case.
this argument dies when you have something like 2010 spain though. they are probably the exception though

There might be two top club teams that have their core group playing together since childhood. The familiarity comes from spending most of their time together every day. Hence club teams can play a much more fluid or much more disciplined style.

That's like saying the Spurs would win Olympic gold in basketball. Does it really need to be said?
