Do we all agree that the next four years has to emphasize two things?!

Give aways and possession. Our talent is getting better, but we lack one thing that all great teams have. Possessing the ball for lengths of time. We had to have been one of the worst ranked teams in that category this wc

We're also going to have to fill a huge hole in Tim Howard. He is amazing, but this was probably his last cup. He'll be 39 the next go round.

keepers can play into their late 30s...many/most peak that late

and our backup is a badass and considered on his level in terms of club play

the USA always produces keepers

I'm not talking about positions and players. I'm talking philosophy and how we play as a team.

We're not as technically sound as the stronger teams in the tournament. As simplistic and noobish as it sounds, we need to get better at kicking the ball powerfully and accurately. Too many times we just sail one out of bounds that was an intended pass

Undoubtedly. Also hope we develop some legitimately viable forwards.

Is very dependant on a target man, which we had for all of the 20 miniutes Jozy was healthy this World Cup.

I think it was Keller who said it. It's great to be able to pass to open players to keep possession, but to truly hold on to the ball, you have to have a couple guys that feel comfortable with the ball in tight spaces and can turn or get out of a press and find the open player.

That's where we struggle a lot of times in giving the ball away and allowing other teams to counter. Bradley can't do it all by himself. So who's going to be that guy next cycle? Gil? Mix? Can't think of any other young midfielders that are really good on the ball, my mind's going blank

Moreso having good touch. You don't feel as confident hitting a strong pass if you don't think the other player can control it so you're pressed harder to hit the perfect pass
