i’ve seen it a lot where teams put the ball back in play quickly after the whistle
i just don’t really see a difference in this situation and i think that’s why the ref didn’t blow the whistle since the ball went to the feet of a brazil player

This isn't comparable to someone playing it quickly after getting fouled.

You’re misunderstanding me. I’m saying they read the rule which allowed for a subjective interpretation from the referee.
So there isn’t really a should have or shouldn’t have in that situation. Whatever the ref decided was valid per the rules.

Need Paraguay to tie Uruguay. That’s what I’ll be cheering for. Chile will be FRESH for the next round with this long break and should get back Alexis. They looked tired and disinterested against Paraguay and it might lead to an early match up with Brazil because of it.
