I must be the only one that thought Edu was good, if not pretty damned good last night.

Very strong defensively, good with the ball at as his feet, good at short passes. His longer passes occasionally went askew, but I thought he looked much more confident and capable than in past matches.

Edu played alright last night I thought. I would have much rathered jones but who wouldn't.

And had that foul in the box he committed actually been called I would have forever hated him.

Edu played pretty well in the Jones role, he's just not as skilled as him.

Was it just me or did Ian Darke have a baby face and heel commentators with him?

Twellman was the baby face and felt like listening to old time rasslin commentary

It was interesting...Moreno's Mexican bias made Twellman actually stick up for the U.S.

Now, if you lived in Tijuana, the roles would have been reversed.

Twellman wasn't taking any shite from that mex last night. He had to be biased though cause Moreno was doing it first so twellman couldn't just sit there and take it.

Everyone keeps saying Jorge (dirty mexican commentator) is Venezuelan not Mexican... so why did he keep saying "we" is what I want to know.

Edu played mediocre. Defensively, he played good. He wrecked the Mexican in the box and that could have been disastrous.

Offensively he wasn't that good.He made TWO nice passes to Altidore, and was in position for a shot on goal that he pulled wide BUT he had a handful of awful first touches and bad giveaways.

I have been saying since 2011 that Gonzalez is our defender for the future. Last night, he shown that. Let's all hope he continues to shine because we are in dire needs.

Alejandro Moreno *is* Venezuelan, and was the Hispanic PBP guy, with Darke and Twellman.

Jorge IDGAFwhatislastnameisarito was the older Mexican guy with Lalas, Keller and Bob Ley.

I thought it was pretty atrocious commentating for the most part. I mean who thought it was a good idea to pair a Mexican-homer with Twellman live on air???

No idea. But you have to admit that Twellman usually isn't as pro-USMNT as he was last night. He's usually bashing every forward that doesn't do everything the way he would have...or mentioning concussions every time a player goes down.

Yeah, when one announcer makes Twellman bearable, then you know something is wrong. I wanted to punch my screen every time that Mexi guy talked.

Actually doesn't look as bad as I originally thought. Edu doesn't touch Aquino till after he shanked it so he doesn't impede his shot. Could have easily gone either way though.

Yeah. Looking at that replay I think it's a good no call. Most fouls in the box after the player has hit the ball are not called. Clearly the opportunity was gone when Edu came crashing in. That said, it should have been a goal kick, not a corner.
