Not soccer, but Simon Gagné almost bit it with the Stanley Cup on the ice. That would have been legendary trophy fail of ever.

Was watching the cup presentation and the groan when gagne went to a knee was the same as if the kings had clanked one off the post in a tie game

I thought it was hilarious when RM dropped the cup under the bus. Also, wasn't it Neuer or someone who dropped some big silver plate when he lifted it up and it hit a power line?

Hrmmmm. I think it was Arjen Robben. He smooth talked his way in using his former Chelsea credentials. He wanted to get a picture with it since he couldnt win it with Bayern Munich.
