The only people trying to downplay the tournament are the ones who weren't in it/didn't win it.

Yes I was there, atmosphere was pretty awesome. Was like a Chelsea home game though. 70/30 split

Pretty weird of you to make the effort to go to a game that didn't mean anything.

That's awesome though my excitement watching was only dampened by the fact i wasn't there.

He is saying that facetiously, as so many people stated that this tournament, and it’s trophy, are irrelevant.

In short, he was using your trip to mock them.

It's for all the salty non-participant Liverpool fans trying to act like since they couldn't qualify nobody cared about it.

All good.

I’m curious as to how the transfers will all play out.

We need a left winger, a left back, and another center back.

We also need to unload some players.

Lastly, I would prefer to keep Jackson around (for now).

Jackson has 34 goal involvements in 65 Premier League matches. In that total, NONE of them were PK’s.

Despite his disciplinary concerns (10 yellows and red in the EPL in two seasons), he is still a quality player.

With so many matches coming up, I say that we keep him until he bails for the African Cup of nations.

Someone is going to be desperate come December, which means we can make bank at that time.

TLDR

I like the key components of the squad right now.

Jettison the weak links, double down on the 1st team and subs.

It’s going to be hard jettisoning everyone we want to at the price we want to when every club knows we have to. We’re going to end up taking baths on a lot of guys- Viega (who I think we should keep), Disasi, Badashile. I hope we keep Chalobah and I always loved Chilly but I understand he’s not the same guy. I really liked Alfie as well but I know he’s straight profit. Hopefully Nkunku will garner a nice price and yes I’d like to keep Jackson too.

I think that we make money on all three if we sell them (I see us keeping Badashile fwiw).

I believe that we will.

I like him too, but is gone, and we will lose some money on him.

We will make money on him.

Same, but if we sell him, we will make bank. Ironically, he is not as valuable at the moment due to the reds. If he comes back and plays well, easily make double what we paid for him, probably more.

Where we are going to lose is on Sterling. That is going to hurt, as his wages are astronomical.

Lastly, who knows how Mudryk affects the books. Right now, it’s just a straight up loss.

We’ll lose bigly on Felix as well. The only deal I’m reading about right now involves Chelsea paying half his salary if he’s moved. That was some bad business.

In a vacuum, yes…it’s bad business.

In reality, AC Milan paid a portion of his salary, and we made BANK on Gallagher, freed up a spot in the midfield, and now will make (some) money off of Felix.

The net result is a positive.

Lastly, it allowed us to have a great relationship with Athletico. They are currently scoping out a couple of our players. Likewise, we are scoping out a couple of theirs. Good relationships like that have produced in the past (think Brighton).

I’m good with the situation as of now.

The big winner at this point, however, is Benefica.

Speaking of which, their Center Back DESTROYED us in their match.

His name is Antonio Silva and he is only 21 years old.

Keep an eye on him as he is quality.
