I guess this is the reason Tuch doesn’t want to sell or loan Broja. He can’t possibly be worse than Werner, Havartz, Pulisic.

Non-latin players that move to Real or Barca simply don't have the mental fortitude or desire to excel at the highest levels. That's why they move there in the first place. Guys like Hazard and Bale are perfect examples.

This could be a long season unless a big striker is purchased. I don’t know who that could be.

We’re on the fast track to the Europa League for sure

I read today that Traore from Wolves is a possibility. I actually like the player but the last thing this team needs is someone who cannot finish.

Between him and Reece James we could whoop some arse if nothing else.

I think he is a solid player. But I don’t think he is at any of their level. He needs to be part of a package deal with West Ham for Rice.

Time to start up a new thread @jackwoods. I need a cheeky title.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. He hasn't posted since Oct 2021 so hoping he is ok.

Zaha from CP.
He stays in London.
He can go at people alone.
He will get more service at Chelsea.
He can distribute out of the target role (Drogba).
I would love this addition.
He is 29, so it isn’t a long term fix, but about the time his contract would end, so would Kepa’s. It would allow us some flexibility long term. Just my .02.
Also, we supposedly are back in talks with West Ham (Rice and Broja) and Leicester (Fofana).
These would be costly moves, but I would love to see them happen.

Like Zaha. Plays with attitude. Not sure he’s gettable.

I always though of Zaha as a winger. Does he play striker now?

I like Zaha but seems like another square peg in a round hole and a player who is good but not quite enough, like most of our attacking options.

He can play (and has played) up top alone. The issue is, he was literally alone, not a target to play off of.
Besides, CP doesn’t exactly move the ball well. His service was basically direct route one, or receive/turn/attack.
He was basically put outside because he couldn’t get service.
Oh, and supa is correct, he is a little off. At times he can be bat shite crazy.
My take would be that, if can score goals (and with a shite ton more service, I would bank on him doing that), then he would be easy to manage. Besides, we have had crazy strikers be successful in the past:
It is a risk, for sure, but Chelsea is in a position to consider those type moves at this stage.
Goals have to come from somewhere.

Fofana has supposedly agreed to personal terms. As noted, I would like that addition.

I think that we turned down their offer of 30 million to entice the the double move (Broja and Rice). TT being so public in his “desire” to keep Broja makes sense on multiple levels.
We have him as a second choice forward (maybe 1st if he can step up), we can use his sale to soften the blow for Rice...and this is just TT playing his role in the play, and if we are looking for an outside forward...we need to sign them before we move him.
Just my .02.

We'll ride with Malang Sarr and his horrendous playing out of the back.
Yikes!
If TB truly wants to “Americanize” the transfer market, I would send Kepa and Dave to Leicester in a straight swap for Fofana (Casper S. is going to Nice, France).
It would get Kepa’s wages off of the books, and it allows us to swap right backs.

Blues 3 Udinese 1
I guess this is a good result. Sterling gets his first. Only 9 days left until Everton. Will we get a striker?
