Finally watched the match. Zouma and Dave were fricking awful, Azpi just looks so washed up. We need Rüdiger back so badly. Maybe forcing out a really good manager and selling Luiz for peanuts was a bad idea

We left sarri’s more Italian conservatism for the newer school high intensity/high pressure... but it’s difficult bc the entire team has to act as one and we got caught out a lot. United has a lot of pace and they were able to pounce before we realized we had lost the ball. We will get better at it but it will take time. Given that, it’s no wonder they let Luiz walk. That dude could get caught out while parking the bus as much as I love him.

Was a refreshing change of pace if I’m honest but live by the sword.... Abraham rocketed one off the post early and if that goes in I think the entire game changes from there but alas it wasn’t to be.

It was, weirdly, the most promising arse whipping I have ever seen

Felt like if the bounces went a different way the scoreline is very different. Can probably be said for every game, but it did not feel like a 4-0 scoreline. Maybe I am just a homer or in denial?

I agree. The young guys have promise- Abraham, Emerson, Mount, Pulisic. I love the aggressiveness offensively but it left us vulnerable on the back, and freaking Azpilicueta looked like garbage as did Zoumba. Need Rudiger back asap. Pedro didn't step up as a veteran.

Sarri's system was a high pressing system.

I don't think it's as bad as some people think. We're not going to be good. But we can solve a ton by moving Dave inside with Rudiger. Then you have a legit partnership. Have Reece and Emerson outside. Kante back anchoring the midfield helps. Really the only thing I'm worried about when we get everyone back is the third midfield spot and striker. Somebody from RLC/Mount/Barkley needs to be healthy/consistently great.

Let us dream for a moment and assume everyone is healthy. What do y’all think our best lineup would be?

That was my point. It seemed conservative compared to what we saw yesterday.

I loved the aggressiveness to start and winning the ball back straight from the kickoff. You really have to pick those spots collectively and do it carefully though. One long ball from Pogba and you’re toast.

Because he has very rarely shown he is a competent LB and not just a good LWB. You just can't play him at LB if he's not in form going forward until he shows you more defensively. If he's scoring goals and in top form, you just have to play him. He finds ways to pop up in big moments when he's at his best.

This match shows what we can be. When we get our guys back, look the F out.

Yeah, our football was superb at times. It's so fun to see Kante back doing what he does. This match is a good reminder that he is so much more than a ball winner. He is amazing with those driving runs forward. I actually think that while he wasn't used to the best of his ability last season, playing a different role has added more to his game.

I really think this team could be comfortably in third if a striker steps up and we get Rudiger back. Dave/Rudiger would be awesome. Imagine that with Reece bombing up and down the right flank. *chef's kiss*
