I've seen both Reus and Khedira linked to us. Reus in a possible Schürrle + cash deal.

It is so odd that Schurrle has fallen out of favor so quickly. He was scoring goals and very active to start the year.

However, if we can get Reus for Schurrle, then it is a no brainer (assuming there isnt too much cash). Reus has a $25 million clause so if we can get him for $8-10 million in cash then that seems reasonable. It would give us another tremendous scorer at Winger.

I also saw Bale rumors...but I can't imagine us bringing enough cash to that deal to make it work.

Yeah Schürrle looked extremely promising after this summer. I think he just isn't the usual guy to bring on off the bench. If Mou wants to slow down a game he brings on Willian or Mikel to tighten up the defense and rarely are we chasing a lead late. Schürrle just hasn't looked as strong as a starter as he is off the bench.

Reus' release clause is 35mil Euro, about 25 mil pounds. I've seen rumors of this release clause + Schürrle in order to get him. Even at this cost he would improve our team and I would love to see it happen.

Didn't realize it was 25 million pounds big difference.

What is Schurrle's value? Seems like that would put like a 35 million pound value on Reus?

Yeah haha. Transfermarkt has Schürrle's value currently at 20.25m pounds as of August. This seems fair. Reus' release clause is just very undervalue for his current value. The trouble for BVB is he runs of of contract this summer so they may accept lower amounts than his true value. They haven't always in the past with players though haha. Recent examples can point to that.

Why would Reus come to Chelsea to sit on the bench when he could start at a number of top clubs?

Why do you think he wouldn't start? He would start over Willian. He'd be behind players at Bayern, Barca, Real. He would be looking to be playing CL so it still will remain to be seen whether he'd be interested in United, Arsenal, etc. What top clubs do you see him starting at that are competing for the CL title?

I think Jose likes the balance of the team. I don't think he would be comfortable with so many attack minded players out there.

Though with Oscar busting his arse defensively this year and even Hazard doing his part it may give him a little bit more confidence to make such a move.

Agreed but with an addition of Reus then it gives the ability for rotation of Hazard, Oscar, Reus, and Willian to keep them all fresh while competing in PL and CL. Though I don't really expect the move, just something I would love to see. Have also heard we would buy Reus, then loan him back to BVB to finish the season there. So who really knows.

Well he F'd his ankle up again and is out for a long time so I don't know what, if any, potential impact it will have on a January transfer.

Hazard is undroppable. Reus isn't taking him out of the team. Starting Reus over Willian would make us worse. I don't want Reus, nor do I think we need him...

Palace chanting "can we play you every week?" to Liverpool made me lol.

Reus would still strengthen our team. Our bench would be as formidable as our starting XI which is beneficial with so many games while competing year round with so many games in England and Europe. You think Bayern or Real won't be going for him because they have several players who are undroppable?

Anyway, back to the current squad. We are currently sitting on 32 points. Arsenal and Tottenham combined have 31.

They would add him, and he would end up never playing and leaving because he's unhappy. Just like the millions of others who couldn't get in the first team.

I've seen Hazard mentioned as a possible piece to make that deal work.

ETA Just to be clear I'm not sure I believe them because I'm not sure I buy this rift between Bale and the club, but the thought of having Hazard creating for James, Ronaldo, and Benzema makes it move.

I know Mourinho is a HUGE fan of Hazard and thinks he's the consummate prrofessional. I don't think he would let go of Hazard very easily.

They had some problems last year, but I dont think we let Hazard go unless someone starts dropping world record £££

I don't see us moving Hazard. He has the creativity that Mo loves and has learned to track in defense. I could see us moving Ramires though. I know he has been injured but he is a defensive liability in my mind. With Willian playing well, it kind of makes him expendable imo. Can you imagine our mids serving Bale and Costa? Scary!
