The key is not putting too much (any?) faith in the UK rags and being patient, these deals are often very complex and have several moving parts so they can come out of nowhere or they can take days/weeks to finalize.

This. The twitterverse blew up when Marseille apparently bid on another RB. Still, Chlesea's beat writer said he would be unveiled on Saturday.

Yea big rumor is he'll be shown off during the Newcastle game. Get him and well have one more random signing to finish off the transfer window. What's everyone's thoughts on possibly selling Sturridge to Pool? I thought besides that one really selfish shot he looked pretty good yesterday. Plus assuming we don't get Cavinni or Hulk he's our number 2 striker.

That's the key. We don't let him go without one or the other.

Is Hulk really a central striker?

Not naturally, but I imagine he could play there if needed

Definitely wouldn't be the #1 option

This is pretty much the case even if we keep Sturridge (though he claims he's a central striker) but I just can't believe we are only going to have one true center forward on the roster.

I wonder if RDM would stray from is 4-2-3-1 if Hulk came.

Seems like a 4-3-3 would be fitting but who knows.

Sturridge claims to be a central striker, but he was subbed in as a winger yesterday and didn't do bad by any means

I was referring to Sturridge as our #2 striker unless we get Cavani or Hulk. You don't want Cavani, and Hulk would be a fill in at best at CF. So who in the hell do you want?

I've always viewed him as a winger

Sturridge has the talent no doubt. If he can get the mental side of the game down and improve his attitude he could be a really dangerous player.

Moses will operate well on the wing.

Looking good for you guys. He's obviously on the wing. Can't imagine a Hulk signing now. But it's Roman, so who knows.

I just remember Sturridge bitched last season when AVB ran the 4-3-3 that he prefers to be a CF. said he operates better that way.

But even with the addition of Moses, that doesn't solve our forwards needs. Moses can't fill in for Torres adequately up top by himself. I don't think its bye to Sturridge yet but I also don't know where the hell Moses fits in. Really like him as a player, but where the hell are gonna use him?

Unless, Moses is moving Sturridge back to the CF position where he wants to be. Hmmmmm

And I also wouldn't be so quick to rule out Hulk or Cavani. But that's just me
