And he is someone that builds a system and a strong team where guys like Neymar are a luxury and not necessarily someone to build around. Would be a fun clash of minds
You could build a system around Neymar. They key to any system would be to balance the midfield. They have one piece in Verrati, and one possible piece in Rabiot. They just need a third player, either a ball-winner like Kante to balance the midfield, or a player like Kroos or Modric to balance the passing workload and recycle possession.
Ideally, every team in the world wants a player like De Rossi or Javi Martinez circa 2012 to give their midfield's immediate balance.

Kroos
That's who we need
Moyes royally fricked that one up.

I don't know how Mou doesn't see the balance issues. They should look to William Carvalho, who could solve defensive issues and free Pogba to go upfield, as he's superb at reliving pressure. Another option would be Julian Weigl, who is going to be a superb midfielder.

How did West Ham frick that one up, over a measly 2 million.

Best manager in the world almost half a billion spent in 18 months of course you have good results. If you keep spending like you have since 2008 the kids will never get a real chance.
You play to win the game. They have money, they’re going to spend it. This high horse argument of “you don’t play academy kids” is very odd and insecure. Particularly since united spends a boatload of money too. It comes across as jealousy of their funds tbh. At the end of the day, winning is all that matters. There won’t be an asterisk in the record books if city win UCL that says
*spent more money than united and didn’t play academy kids

Kante’s are few and far between. Matuidi wasn’t a slouch. The draw has been unkind to PSG in recent years. Swap their draw with Liverpool or Barça or Bayern or City or Sevilla and they’re still in the tournament. I know it’s in style to hate on them, and they’ve brought some of it on themselves with legs like Barça a year ago, but they haven’t had a clear path to the quarters with a favorable draw either.

Playing youth academy grads is actually a big deal to supporters.
It helps you supplement the team and spend the big money in other areas.
You are right they have the money and can circumvent the process. But the lack of English and academy grads is a big deal bc playing those players esp local kids is a huge sense of pride for a game so tribalistic in nature.

Although I guess they already spent that to get him in the first place. You can always build around someone if you have the right balance, but like I said, Poch is someone that seems to believe in finding the right players that do more for the team and don't just care about their stats (aka not the PSG type of player of recent years)

and if he wins the league
We are on pace to have 80+ points which some years low 80s wins the league. City having a historic season is just making it look worse for United.

They are, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they spent the money on Kante. He would be worth it.

I think Poch could accommodate Neymar more than a manger like Mou could. If you get the balance between midfield and defense right, you can give free roles to important attacking players. It's harder to do, but it is what Messi gets, and that's who Neymar wants to be.

Kante was the ultimate diamond in the rough

Man United's results haven't been that good really.

2nd place and 80+ points with the FA cup would be a good year, considering a record season from City.
Next year he has to challenge for the league

Wow, Barcelona and Bayern get walks into Semi's.
Shame that we lose Man city or Liverpool. Would of been fun to watch them face Barcelona or Madrid.

What? All I heard in August was how Matic was the answer to all United and Pogba's midfield issues?
Posted on 3/16/18 at 9:06 pm to RandySavage
Pairing Pogba in a midfield two seems a waste of his abilities, although Pogba seems to have played fairly well in a deeper position.
Man U's balance issues have existed for most of this decade now. Pogba compounded the issues rather than solving them.
