The Galaxy fired Curt Onalfo and replaced him with none other than Sigi Schmid. The Galaxy play the Sounders on Saturday. LINK

Second, reports are coming out that Bob Bradley will be the first coach of LAFC. LINK

Bruce Arena and Dave Sarchan leaving has exposed how much the LA Galaxy organization depended on them to succeed. Onalfo just didn't have what it takes to lead that team.

I'm not sure Sigi is the long-term answer, but he can't do much worse. At least he gets to live in LA.

I'm excited to see what LAFC will do next season. They are already looking to make an immediate impact in the West like Atlanta has done in the East. The Galaxy should be very scared of a new team in downtown LA, especially if they sign some high-profile players and/or Mexican internationals like Vela or Guardado. Unlike Chivas USA, they will be a real threat to the Galaxy's fanbase in LA. How many people will travel all the way to Carson if there's a better, flashier team in downtown? We'll find out.

Team would have been fine if the made the right hire instead of letting Bruce choose his replacement. Onalfo is a shite manager who proved it during his time in DC and KC.

It's really not that far. Although it should be said if you have to drive more than 20 miles away from where you live traffic in LA is going to be an issue. That and and a few other reasons are why I prefer to live in the "other LA" aka Lower Alabama, now.

Lower Alabama has beautiful white sand beaches from Ft. Morgan, AL all the way to Panama City, FL (look I know the panhandle is technically part of the Sunshine State but geographically and culturally it's basically Alabama).

The landscapes are green and lush, not brown and dry. There is air pollution here in the form of ozone, but at least it's not smog. Smog sucks moose crank.

Also, there's not a huge traffic problem, with the exception of tourist/beach traffic. I'll take that hit to live 10 minutes from the Gulf.

Also, people here are a little (ok a lot) crazy for college football. I kinda like that.
