Inspired by Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia who were in 1st place at the winter break but have gone 0-4-6 in their last 10 games, scoring 0 goals and having 3 managers.

Newcastle lead the Premiere League by 12 points in January of 1996 and ended up choking it away and finished 2nd.

Yep, they are on the list.

Newcastle United FC (England, 1995/96)
Sir Alex Ferguson's suggestion that other Premier League teams tried harder against his Manchester United FC side than they did against leaders Newcastle hastened the decline of Kevin Keegan's Magpies. "I will love it if we beat them – love it," the manager railed in a notorious post-match interview. However, Newcastle's hopes of a first English championship since 1927 were already fading; 12 points clear of United in January, they ended up finishing four points adrift of their rivals in second.

Other notables, Inter in 01/02 and Madrid in 03/04.

I wasn't a fan then obviously but it still sucks as our most recent English title is like 1927 and most recent major trophy was still 1955.

So if Barca collapses in La Liga this year (I know they won't) would they be on the list even though they are only 4 ahead of Madrid given the fact of their recent dominance and overall form?

Can't recall all the details, but I remember this being a bad one, particularly since they hadn't won the Scudetto in years.

The Ma-Gi-Ca Napoli side also choked away a Scudetto defense in '88.

They went 0-1-4 in the final 5 matches and lost the title to Milan by 2 points.
