Basically, by this, I mean guys who haven't suited up for the US in the Gold Cup or the most recent qualifiers.

Obviously the vast majority of the 2014 squad will have played in either the 2013 Gold Cup or the first half of the WC qualifiers. However, there are always a few guys who sneak in at the last minute, either by playing really well in their club schedule or injuries ravaging a certain position.

Which guys can make a sudden emergence on the national team roster?

I really hesitate to call Bocanegra an under-the-radar player but he seems to be out of Klinsmann's plans, and I mostly get it.

So the guys I was thinking of were Gatt (who would have been on the Gold Cup roster if healthy), Aguedelo, John Anthony Brooks (assuming he finally commits to us entirely), and Eric Lichaj. Nagbe would be an interesting one as well, but I am not sure when he'll become a US citizen.

Given our current needs, Lichaj.

#1 is Dolo unless he has fallen off.

I'm interested in how Tim Ream progresses in the championship this year.

I don't know how good he'll be but Julian Green has had a good preseason with Bayern. He can play for Germany or USA. Jurgen should honestly have tried to get him on the Gold Cup squad. We need to try to captie him.

Dolo can't get healthy right now.

I looked into this guy a little bit a couple weeks ago. I got the impression he was one who might lean more towards joining the German squad.

Nice. He would be a solid add. I watched a few of those preseason games and he's got some serious skill.

Wish he was part of our youth setup already. Hard to see him getting a look this late, especially with Wondo lighting up the world.

Next year Junior Flores will join Borussia Dortmund, can't go until he's 18, so it would be great if we had Flores and Green playing for the best teams in Germany and for the US.

Anyone follow West Ham know if Sebastian Lletget will get a good runout this year?

Lletget is in a make or break year. He made the bench a couple of games I think. He needs to find some game time this year or move on. He'll be 21 in September so he shouldn't be a youth player anymore.

Someone on this board was raving about Emerson Hyndman a couple of years ago. He has since been signed by Fulham and will hopefully make a debut within the next couple of years.

I'm not very familiar with Hyndman but I agree about Lletget, he's been really hyped up for a while.

Hyndman is getting a lot of praise from the Fulham scouts. They say he has everything needed to be a top class midfielder in the EPL. Since he was 16 he's been starting for the Fulham U-18 team that has won the U-18 EPL two years in a row. Not bad. He's 17 now. Only concern is that he is kind of small (5'3/5'4 range).
