Glass been all over Maldini's junk the last month. Latest man crush? Watching old highlights? What gives?

I mean, who is better? Only Beckenbauer. And that is in question. In terms of on the pitch and dominance. Maldini is the most influential defender and second to Zidane in terms of the best all around players in the last 20 years.

Oh I'm not necessarily disagreeing cause that's a tough question and he's up there. I just think it's funny, two out of the blue threads recently

Only one even close. I'll give it to Zidane, except for his potential to lose it when it counts.

Xavi/Puyol?

Neuer might deserve a shout at the end of his career

Nowhere near the level of the other two players mentioned in this thread.

Probably not, but it's hard to find players with that much success in club and country

Are we supposed to be going with who we think was the best player? Or the most decorated?

If the question is who were the best soccer players of the last 20 years, the answers are Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi.

I read it as a combo of both.

That's what I thought. My answer is the same. The 2 best players of the last 20 years are CR7 and Messi.

I'm a little late to this, but I would have to give a shout out to Oliver Kahn. As much as I love Van der Sar as a United fan, but Kahn has probably won more awards and was just as good.

ETA: Obviously Messi and CR7 best and most decorated players, but as far as GK goes Kahn.
