I have them taking 8 defenders, simply because we have no idea where he will play Fab.

D(8): F. Johnson, Gonzalez, Cameron, Besler, Goodson, Parkhurst, Beasley, Evans.

For the record, the rest of my team would look like this:

GK(3): Howard, Guzan, Rimando

MID(7): Zusi, Bradley, Jones, Donovan, Bedoya, Beckerman, Diskerud

FWD(5): Altidore, Dempsey, Johannsson, Wondo, GAM

I think that looks good. I'd like to see Gooch make it, maybe in the place of Goodson.

And I think Mix makes it in place of either Wondo or GAM.

ETA: Never mind just saw Mix, but I think consensus is that only one of Wondo or GAM makes it.

I think Edu ends up narrowly missing out to either Green or Shea. At this point I would go with Green, but Klinsy has a hardon for Shea.

Normally, 7 midfielders seems like it's not enough, but you could technically include Dempsey and/or Fab in that group.

In fact, we have a lot of "grey-area" players who can play at different parts of the field.

Donovan, Dempsey, Bacon and GAM could both play up top, in the hole or out on the wings. Cameron can play right back, center back or CDM while Fab and Beasley could play left back or on the wing.

We may not have the most talented squad, but we have a shite ton of versatility.

He is largely a regular starter for a team in the Bundesliga. I don't think Gonzalez or Goodson could sniff that and even Besler is a long shot.

in terms of upside, you're probably right, but i think besler could certainly cut it in a top league in Europe. he's had offers from EPL teams, if i'm not mistaken.

Yeah the problem is we have three good defenders: Besler, Fabian, and Cameron. So we will either have a sub-par fullback or central defender.

What scares me is both Cameron and Fabian could find themselves in the midfield.

Meh, you'd have to have injuries to Jones and Beckerman before Cameron gets a look in the midfield. I think it's 50/50 that Klinsi puts Fab in the midfield though which would be a mistake IMO. We have capable wingers. If Fab is playing RB or LB, I'd actually feel semi-confident about our backline.

At the very least, we'd have 3 quality guys forming it in Besler, Cameron and Fab.

I think you have to consider Goodson as a possible starter and would like to see us switch them up a bit.

I would like is to be Gonzo for Ghana due to his physicality. I also think they are less likely to technically exploit him.

I'm not sure about Portugal, but likely Gonzo as he seems more athletic.

I start Goodson vs. Germany. Gonzo scares me with his ball watching and lack of tracking. Or maybe its his zone out stoner moments? Germany will be behind him more often than a SoccerBoarder would get behind Stu.
