Some interesting tidbits of information in here...

What does it take to win the Champions League? ESPN FC asked Sporting Intelligence's Nick Harris to run the numbers on the past 10 years of winners and runners-up in search of patterns. What did we find?

Before reading the article, I'm going to guess it's a combination of $$$, good coaching, players that are hard workers, and a bit of good fortune.

Your as cliche with those guesses as Bobby Hebert on talk radio is with Saints stats.

This only compares the winner to the runner up... just saying.

#2 'Own your players' isn't surprising but interesting that they included free transfers in the equation (Pogba and Pirlo were 'frees' for Juventus).

Seems like having your starting squad average 4.3 years at the club, are 26.5 years old and 10 of them are homegrown is a formula for success

7. Install a systematic doping program and have your country's officials look the other way. See Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
