He really has the all-time worst Twitter account. Its the only thing holding me back from buying a kit with his name on the back. He needs to complain about refs more like he used to.

Have any Houston Gunners ever watched a match at Richmond Arms? I went there for a work happy hour yesterday and really liked the atmosphere and set up. Somebody mentioned it was the Arsenal bar of Houston. I was just wondering if it would be worth leaving the comfort of my couch for a game or two.

ETA: I may actually be the only Houston Gunner on here, who knows.

Here's to hoping we get a pushover.

edit: as much of a pushover as exists in the Final 16 of the Champions League.

Here's to also hoping that Dortmund relent and sell us Goetze in January since they're out of the CL.

Please draw Apoel. I don't want to play in St Petersburg in the winter.

That'd be awesome. We deserve it after getting Barca the past two years.

So how was the first half? I only got back home in time to catch from the 50th on.

And I just checked the channel listings and they are replaying all the other games, yesterday's matches included, multiple times from now till friday but not this match.

Dortmund started out on top. We got into it more around the 18th minute or so. Bender came off soon after when TV5 accidentally kicked him in the face, then Goetze came off shortly after Bender. They got more shots away, but it was fairly even in the 1st after 18 or so minutes. Both teams' passing wasn't stellar in the opening 45.

That was a great win. we looked like shite at times but they really grinded it out. Diaby came in late, so our depth is getting better.

Props to my boy RVP.I knew you could lead us without fabregas.

Eventually Gervinho will get it too. His ability to create dangerous situations is on par with Arshavin at his best, but he's trying to challenge Bendnter right now as the most wasteful attacking player. He really needs to start shooting the ball.

I really like the movement of this front three. We rely a lot on RVP to score goals, but a lot of these goals are poacher's goals. We aren't relying on him to create chances, which is good. RVP's form this season has a lot to do with our fluid wing play. Our wide forwards are always so threatening because of their pace. I would be down with buying another fast winger in January as insurance. I don't want to play another midfielder on the wing ever again. With these wide players, the play is more direct. With players like Nasri, it became congested. I prefer this 4-3-3 to last year's system. Our midfield also works so much better as a unit. It's a night and day difference in terms of pressing.

If and when Wilshere comes back we will be a very dangerous team.

Hopefully. Teams aren't putting ten men behind the ball anymore, as we actually have wide players who can provide service. Did anyone not get a boner in the passage of play which started with the Walcott dummy, and led to his cross which the Dortmund keeper parried away? Last year he wouldn't have made that cross. Walcott gets a bad rep because he usually doesn't know how to apply the right amount of power for long crosses into the box which are meant to be headers. But his ability to play balls into the box to the feet of players is extremely underrated.

Agreed. It appears Theo is maturing and his actual crosses have gotten better this season.

I agree completely. Gervinho will turn it around. He creates those dangerous chances but he also tracks back 1000x better than Arshavin. He'll be double digits in goals and assists by the end of the year IMO, even though it sucks he'll be gone in January. I agree we should buy another pacy winger in January, hopefully early on, to counteract the loss of Gervinho. I would love to add Ayew, but I doubt Marseille would sell him in January, not to mention he'd be cup-tied in the Champions League. Who are some other options?

Arteta has been fantastic for us. I was a huge fan of his while he was at Everton, but I was worried his best years were behind him. Glad he's proved he at least has some left in the tank.

Kos had another very good game defensively last night.

Indeed. It was one of his best performances. He was everywhere. Probably his most disciplined performance this year.

According to Young Guns, Ream turned down an opportunity to train with Arsenal and instead is training with WBA. Thank goodness we won't be signing him now. Also, YG says that there are rumors of Henry scouting the MLS for us.
