Should fulfill the requirement of being cheap at least.

LOL. Try a German International. A little better than Squid and Djourou. Mertsecker and TV5 would be a great pairing. Sell Cesc and Samir and get Hazard. Watch the frick OUT.

He won't be cheap, but he's exactly what we need. I obviously wouldn't mind Hazard, but I would rather use that money on a legit CAM.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain supposedly to have medical at Arsenal today. More young players. Yay!

Mertesacker would be a really nice option to have. But I'm not really sure he is a target. At the same time, Wenger requires all his CB's to have excellent ball skills, which English CB's don't typically have. Jagielka and Cahill are exceptions which their price justifies.

Also here's a really interesting article about youth. LINK

It's no surprise that we lead in youth signings under 21 and youth players in the first team. At least one part of the Wenger process is working.

I meant in comparison to Jagielka/Cahill he would be cheap. Definitely seen numbers under 10 mil.

Looks like Nasri may actually be on the way out. Or it's total BS. I tend to think the former though.

Take it. Only one year left on his contract. More than fair.

That's very fair considering he is entering a contract year. Ozil went for far less last year. But it's a waste if the front office just wants to swallow the money.

Also, that move might seal the deal for Sneijder to join Man U, which I did not want to see.

Nice. Love the way this kid plays.

Now sell Nasri and Cesc, get Mata or some other creative midfielder, a CB, and let's get this season started.

@ASCFR
Laurent Blanc just said Nasri WILL NOT sign a new contract at Arsenal and he's looking for a new Club.

if that's true, then this move is looking almost certain

Anyone want to attempt to guess our XI this weekend? Cesc, Nasri, Beowulf, and Eboue likely to be sold. Vela likely to be loaned out. Wilshere, RvP, TV5, Walcott, and Gibbs all iffy with injuries. Diaby definitely out. At this point, even if we signed somebody else this week, they wouldn't play Saturday.

My guess is

Chesney
Sagna-Kos-Djourou-Traore
Ramsey-Song
Gervinho-Rosicky-Arshavin
Chamakh

I'm not excited by Rosicky at AM. And are we even going to play the 4-2-3-1 this year? Preseason it looked like we were playing the 4-1-4-1 of the 2009-2010 season.
