You guys got any more of those Dowmans? Impressive

Fun to see young kids play fearless to try and earn their keep.

The stuff we saw from Dowman today is what Noni & Potentially Eze are capable of.

Teams basically leave the middle of the pitch open for us and we have no one that can exploit spaces like that (unless it’s a pass)

You start being able to beat the defense through the middle, it opens up the wings for Saka, Martinelli, etc

We are going to COOK teams this year. Easily the most depth Arteta has had since he has been here.

Andrea Berta, keep going please. You make us all happy when you go to work.

I'm sorry if it is insensitive to some but I get some autism vibes from Gyokeres. His interview and interactions with others seems slightly off (could be English being like his 4th language).

I don't mind it tho. Baw only has time for goals and nothing else.

Footballers football.

And they don’t go to uni first then pro like in the states.

Cole Palmer sounds like an idiot.

When Nwaneri was asked about the north of England he said something like, that’s the top innit? We aren’t dealing with scholars here.

Gyokeres does come off as just a dumb jock. But in these videos he’s switching between 3 languages. So he definitely learned some Portuguese while there.

[Gary Jacob] Leandro Trossard is increasingly likely to leave Arsenal, having attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund and Premier League clubs. The sale of the Belgium attacker, would help Arsenal fund moves for a left winger and Eberechi Eze.

Shirt sales for Arsenal’s new signing Viktor Gyokeres have broken the club’s previous record.

While data from various outlets and retailers is still being analysed, it is already clear that demand for Gyokeres’ No 14 shirt exceeds that of any signing in recent history.

After seeing all the videos and him being announced over the weekend I pulled the trigger on a Gyokeres home kit. I usually don't buy ones with players on it, but I just had to for the Swede.

Last player I bought was Podolski, so let's hope this turns out better.

quote:

Before Gyokeres’ arrival, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, and Martin Odegaard have been among the most popular names on Arsenal shirts. Since his breakthrough into the first team, there has also been significant demand for Myles Lewis-Skelly shirts — augmented by the fact he wears 49, the number of games that Arsene Wenger’s Invincibles went without losing. Since joining from Sporting CP, Gyokeres has outstripped them all.

It is a strange one. The family seemed ready to leave England.

I think they are paying him well, and the owner is a young man born in Switzerland. Was maybe able to convince him to come help them stay up.

I love this dude already.

quote:

Viktor Gyokeres’ No 14 shirt is already breaking sales records. For Arsenal supporters, the jersey has a special significance — their new centre-forward will wear the same number as the club’s record goalscorer, Thierry Henry.

quote:

“Of course I know about the history,” says the 27-year-old Sweden international, speaking at Arsenal’s Hong Kong hotel during their ongoing Asian pre-season tour. “But, to be honest, there weren’t too many numbers to pick from. But of course, that one was available, so when I knew that it was an easy choice to take it.

quote:

“It’s not really my intention to be compared with what he’s achieved in his career, especially here. I just want to do my own thing and show my qualities. Of course, he was an amazing player, but different from me.”

quote:

Gyokeres has watched Arsenal in recent months, but rejects the idea he is the missing piece of a trophy-winning jigsaw. He believes that if Arsenal are to achieve their targets, it will be a collective effort.

quote:

“I think you need everyone on the pitch, to be honest,” he says. “You need 11 on the pitch and people on the bench as well that can make an impact. You need a whole team that are together and play together. Then I think you have a very good chance to have a great season.”

quote:

Having only just resumed training, can Arsenal’s new striker really be ready for the start of the season?

“Yes,” he responds emphatically.
