How many times did you actually rewatch in real time? Raya had 0 intention of jumping up and getting that ball. He reached up and flayed about on contact.

Have you? Only two players go for the ball, both goal keepers. That Tobido guy was only trying to go after raya and our player was trying to block him off. His only intention was to grab Raya, no intent to even play the ball, just the man.

If I pull your shirt by the collar down behind your right shoulder blade, you won't be able to lift your right arm up. That's the whole point of the defender doing it.

In your opinion, were Rice, Odegaard, and Trossard all committing penalties at the same time - or no?

Of course they were. And none of them effected the GK catching the cross. There's no such thing as offsetting penalties in soccer, I'm sure you know that.

Again, the PL referees all season (and really for years now) have been allowing essentially unlimited rugby as long as it doesn't affect the GKs.

Bernardo Silva literally tackled an Everton player last week and nothing was done about it.

Yes, I have.

You could've just admitted that you haven't.

That same Tobido guy was being hugged by Trossard who didn't even look at the ball the whole time.

Go ahead and watch it in full speed again. Raya is world class no doubt. But he barely tried to reach for the ball before flailing to the ground. Here he is looking at the ref before his knee even hits the ground.

Bottom line is do I think the grappling should be fouls, yes. Do they call it? No. Does it offset 2 different people pulling on a GK trying to claim a corner? no

If Raya catches that, do you think there's any chance VAR goes for those fouls? If you say yes, you're just lying to yourself.

It's not an opinion fool. It's in the rulebook.

Then they should selectively apply it in GW36 while 2 players are actively fouling a GK trying to claim a corner? Because it helps your team?

It hasn't been called all season, and that's why you see it done on every corner.

You selectively point out Trossard and Rice, but conveniently leave out Soucek tackling Havertz at the front post, and that foul happens BEFORE all the rest.

They got the call correct and in fact it was a very simple call. Any complaining about other simultaneous fouls are just people being absolute babies.

I'm an Arsenal fan of course I've watched it you dumb frick. Trossard is just blocking the player from going after raya.

Tobido is an attacking player in this scenario. But instead of doing that he just went to hold Raya. If he hadn't don't that then it's not a foul. But raya was fouled twice. Holding his left arm and the pull of his jersey.

They aren't giving fouls if you just jump for the ball. But they will if you actually grab the goal keeper. We had a goal chopped off when Ben white held a goal keepers arm.

It's not selective. I'm asking, do you think VAR actually reviewed anything else as they were supposed to? Or did it take them 6 minutes to review one thing and declare it was something that was clear and obvious?

They didn't go to VAR for the other fouls. They went to VAR for a foul on Raya, found a foul occurred and anything else that happened is null and void.

I know you are upset that it happened to your team, and I've we've been there, believe me.

This article breaks down what likely happened in the VAR booth. Mutual grappling in and around the box and a foul that impeded the GK. The Rice/Mavropanos becomes a moot point

Impeding the best keeper in the league is a big deal. It wasn’t a screen, it was a mugging.

They're going to have to do something next year, because the box has basically become a rugby match. It's their (PGMOL) on doing on all of this.

In this situation, it's the only deal. Takes precedent. Everyone knows this, or so I thought. Apparently not.

Well they allowed it for so long teams just said you have to join in.

Arsenal didn't start this. Arteta just recruited 8 defensive brutes instead of 8 small 10s. He adapted to what was going on.

Its actually kind of ironic, but it used to be that the weaker mid & bottom table teams were the one that benefitted from corners to equalize the playing field with the top teams.

Arsenal & ManU are the top 2 teams in set piece goals this year and are 1 & 3 on the table

Defenses have become so good, it's another way to try to win games

23-24: 7 teams that scored more than 74 goals overall (with 4 above 85)
24-25: 3 teams that scored more than 68 goals (only 1 in the 80s)
25-25: through 36 games, City have 72, Arsenal have 68, and there are only 2 other teams in the 60s

The athletic talent at defense is at an all time high. It’s imperative to emphasize set pieces. Any manager that doesn’t see that isn’t going to be around long. That includes defending them as well.

Sure hope Timber is available for the final.

Other options I assume we be to play Cala at RB. I don't really want Dec there full time. I also don't think Mosquera is ready for it full time either

Maybe an off the wall shout is Martinelli for his pace? Only in the final for this. Probably not good enough defensively, but he's fast as shite and is naturally right footed for crossing the ball in

Really hope we can pull through with this PL title for Ben White's sake. Pretty much destroyed his body from 22-23 season to now for the club

We desperately need another healthy right back in the squad that can take some of the load off of Timber

His work rate and pace should make him at least adequate at RB. Would require more work from Saka defensively to help out.

I like this better than Mosquera or Dec x1000000
