Ø is also a guy who strives with Saka and a striker around him. Not a CM playing striker and a 17 year old up and comer.

He was pretty much the only guy creating chances for us today that weren't blind swinging crosses

After rewatching the first half - might have been Declan Rice’s worst performance in an Arsenal jersey.

Good on Arteta for hooking him. We had 0 chance with the way he and Odegaard were playing.

Zinny looked good coming on

My biggest hope for the summer window is that we acquire guys that are able to push the ball in transition.

After the 22-23 season we moved to this possession (control) offense, and against weaker sides (or from individual excellence, Saka) we have scored lots of goals, and given up very few, but when we play these games where nothing is working the last 2 years, we have no other way to generate chances. Would be nice if the folks we bring in have that capability so we can play a little differently when needed.

I’d also ask that Arteta allow his forwards to stay closer to the midway line so we can actually get transitions started. Painful watching Saka & Martinelli play as wingbacks out of possession. Let them do what they are good at: create chances & score goals

And look, I get it, the way we’re coached now allow us to compete very well against the big 6, having not lost in 2 years, but these games against Everton & West Ham, Newcastle, etc where dumping a bunch of crosses into 8 man boxes just can’t happen. Got to have another way to score when you need it.

They need to win something next season. If not it’s time for a change.

We should be able to beat this west ham team.

I watch other teams brush Fulham aside. Yet we can’t.

For most of the season we have been a boring watch. Even last weekend we looked just like this game until merino got his two goals. That was headed to a 0-0.

Need some new ideas from the coaching staff. We’ve been found out. Same with city.

At some point, the journey has to reach its final destination.

I guess I’m going to go in hard on our recruiting.

100m player the manager hasn’t found an every game position for him.

The amount of gks we’ve signed and will be looking again in the summer is a complete joke.

We all have been knowing Saka needed help. Instead the manager plays him until his hamstring falls off.

Last season Nelson and Nketiah scored match winning goals. Sterling zero. We made our attack worse. Not better.

Go back to other windows. Willian was shite. Tavares prob right physical profile but he’s a wing back, we don’t play with wing backs. Required us to look for another left back.

Vieira was the rt position, right sided attacker. But complete wrong physical profile. Now we are relying on a 17 year old to try and score wonder goals.

Went hard for a cm in merino and he is now starting games at cf. He’s doing that to replace the guy you pay the most on the team, and originally brought in to play cm. But since you moved him to CF you bought merino to replace him in the midfield.

It’s all pretty crazy.

And there is the Mudryk thing. Spent a lot of time chasing that. Maybe if we hadn’t had to loan a cup tied GK we could have gotten him on loan from Chelsea.

As far as January goes. You put a serious early bid in for Ollie Watkins and we might be singing a different tune today. And no, he doesn’t block players like Nwaneri.

Yes, recruitment has been a joke.

I really think we need to move away from our inverted fullbacks possession buildup and move towards a double pivot with true overlapping full backs.

If Rice wants to step up, so be it, if he’s partnering with the rumored Zubimendi, that’s a great double pivot set up.

Then you can play Ethan or another AM in front of them behind LW/CF/RW

Overlapping fullbacks allows Saka & Martinelli (Or other winger we bring in) to play more centrally and get your triangles on each side with Overlapped FB, LW, AM, CF, CDM

Saka is a great touchline winger, but he’d be even better if allowed to move inside (Much like he does when Benny Blanco is overlapping)

We get a whole lot more unpredictable than what we are doing right now and sending it out wide and hoping we can win 1v1’s or send in crosses

Arsenal's last 20 games vs Newcastle, Fulham, Aston Villa + West Ham:
• 20 Games
• 4 Wins (20%)
• 5 Draws (25%)
• 11 Losses (55%)

This is why we’ve got to figure out a way to play different. Basically the reason we aren’t in the running for a 2nd consecutive title

Thank god Liverpool are putting us out of our misery.

Just need to get top 4, which is going to be rough I think, until/if we get Saka back if we continue playing like the last 2 games.

The 2 merino goals covered up a stinker against Leicester as well

Well that's on the manager.

Those teams have been his kryptonite.

This is a huge summer for Arteta. If they don't get this right, he will leave Arsenal hated. Because he will have wasted Sakas time at Arsenal. I really do believe this summer is make or break for this current squad ever winning anything.

And we dont have a sporting director.

It will be so Arsenal that the summer window opens and we havent hired a new one yet.

We have been held to 0 goals 8 times this season. And some of those were with Saka and martinelli and Havertz fit.

Maybe by the crazies in the fanbase.

I don't know. If this was January 2021 I'd agree but man he's completely rebuilt us it has coincided with City doing what they do and Liverpool having an insane probably one off season where they have no midfield and yet their 3 best players are probably the 3 best players on earth in their positions and haven't gotten hurt.

I don't think Arteta is responsible for no striker coming in this year. I think the Kroenkes are trying to do just enough to win the title but just enough not to push the Brinks truck out.

This summer is massive for the club. Massive. Have to get at least a new winger, one or two CM, and a Striker

I want Simon Rolfes more than anything, what he’s been able to do at Leverkusen has been incredible. Probably a long shot, because he was a player there as well.

Our entire org needs to rethink recruitment and progression for the youngsters. Saliba probably the last guy that we’ve bought for relatively cheap, loaned out and joined the first team, we ought to be able to do that and sustain the first team with younger backups, or money to sign new guys from selling them. That is a signature of Rolfes, and would be welcomed for sure

Probably a few of those guys in the ranks now that could use some first team experience in some lower league but weren’t loaned out

How we looking?

I can't watch midweek games at work anymore. One of the arse things about my new job

Maybe that isn't terrible with our current form but will suck if make a champions league run.

Was there some sort of penalty or violent conduct incident around the 15th minute? I saw a few people post about it but can't find video.

Looking much more assertive than West Ham game. Only real shot was Calafiori banging one of the post, couple corners.

Cala had a yellow card 3 min in, only real action so far.

Looks like Tierney is coming on to start the 2nd half for Cala
