It's wild that Arsenal haven't moved for more attacking cover in this window. Mind boggling.

They clearly think one big win here and there is good enough.

It could be dumb or it could be the club gearing up for a club changing transfer window this coming summer.
Zubimendi is a given for £52 million
Sesko or a ST for big money
A LW/RW for big money
A LB/RB to cover in case Tomi leaves

The manager, the players, the fans, and the pundits have all said Arsenal need a striker.
The only people who I guess think we don't is the board.
We aren't a serious club.
If the rumors are true we made a bid for watkins. That was before they sold Duran. We just didnt make a serious offer, they want 60 we offer 45 or so.
And for the summer
Jorginho gone
Tierney gone
Neto loan over
Sterling loan over
Partey out of contract
All of these guys played this season and need a replacement. Either from within or from outside the club.
Decisions will also need to be made on Zinchenko, jesus, kiwior, tomiyasu, nelson, vieira, marquinhos and maybe lokonga. Tavares will be sold, has obligation.
Trossard's contract ends in 2026 so he has one year left.
And if you really want to shite a brick, saka, martinelli, saliba and gabriels contracts are all up in 2027. Why sign with arsenal if we don't win shite?

This is part of it - we’re in the middle of another PL race, we’re through to the KOs in CL and you’ve got a star player (Rice) and Arteta saying we need attacking help and you don’t get it.
We’ve brought in 1 attacker (outside of a token Sterling loan) and that was in the winter window of 22-23 season. You currently have 1 attacker done for the season, and most of next, and Saka who we HOPE comes back on April.
Right now, god forbid one of Trossard, Gabby, Havertz, Nwaneri, Sterling gets a nick for an extended period of time, you’re left with bringing Tierney in at LW.
I don’t think the failure is as much this window as it was last years Summer window, you had to bring in someone to Challenge Martinelli on the left side and/or backup Saka. Sterling has played in a 1/3 of our games

You’ve got 18 months to sign those players to a new deal or sell.
Can’t let any of them go for free.
Your window to win with these players can close on you quickly.
We may go win the champions league without the signing. But it’s a risk relying on havertz to be your only cf for the rest of the games.

The only two we have to worry about are the two Gabby's. Big Gabby will be nearing 30, and speedy has been pretty mediocre. I can see us shipping them out before signing to new contacts.

Also, looking at the fixtures, we play the same amount of matches between February and March as we did in January

Yeah missing that cl playoff was big.
And getting knocked out of FA cup means we don’t play this weekend.
But not having that game could be a go all out against Newcastle and get your break after.

We have 10 days off between Newcastle on Wednesday and our next game. A Dubai trip may be in order.
I think they definitely should have added an attacker, even if it was a winger on loan. We are extremely thin in attack obviously. I guess they are confident in Sesko this summer and didn’t want to sign someone as a stop gap that they don’t want to keep long term.

I think Big Gabi is Virgil Van Dijk esque with how he takes care of his body. I've watched a few interviews and I've seen maybe Odegaard and Gunnerblog or Ornstein talk about how the dude is a menace and unbelievably professional with his fitness.
I want him at Arsenal til he's 34 or 35. I fricking love him and he is the rock of this generational transformation from the late Wenger to Emery to early Arteta era. We win a league title or FA Cup and he's a club legend IMO. That is how good he is.

All my bitching besides - this window only really sucks if we get someone hurt and end up in a bind, or they frick up the summer window as well

Also of note:
We do a terrible job of loaning out academy players and are perplexed when they leave on a free at first opportunity.
We only had 1 guy get loaned out (Kacurri) that went to a league 1 team
Makes it hard to generate profits when no one ever sees your kids play

I don't disagree one bit. He and Willy are why this defense is doing what it's doing, even with all the changes and injuries to the wing backs.
But we also have cheap arse owners that might not want to pay an aging CB huge wages while already having a high wage CB on the books

Yeah I honestly can't mentally process Gabriel leaving. I know we were thinking of accepting some crazy offer from Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023 or at least that Gabriel was enticed by it. At that point I think Saliba had just agreed to a new contract so it makes sense that he was like WTF what about my wages.
Now, I don't think he'd do it especially with a World Cup at the end of next season. He is 2nd choice Brazil CB and let's be real it will be 1st choice by World Cup time because I think he's that good.
If he were to leave and for less than 100 million I will legit cry no homo

I mean van dijk is 33 and Gaby is 27. Hes not turning 28 until December, so next season he will be 27 for half the season and 28 for the second half. We should be offering up an extension.
Partey is diff imo. He's in his contract year and having the best season hes had for Arsenal. It probably wont get any better than what he is right now, so I wouldn't extend him. Unless he will do a 1 year.
I just have a feeling we arent going to do all the business we need to do in the summer and come next January we will all be sitting here saying we are still a player short.
And there is no guarantee that if you go blow 80 million on a striker in the summer, they are even good for us.

Anyone know how Karl Hein is doing on loan?
I know Real Valladolid are in last place and have conceeded an arse load of goals.
That said, I say f it and make him the #2 next year if there are no viable Homegrown free agents out there. It could be a cheap easy and effective option next season.
No more big money spending on GKs for the next 3 or 4 years. I know Joan Garcia is good and young but we just can't drop big money on keepers unless we get big money in this summer and I just don't see it.

They’re defense is arse, he’s allowed in 46 goals on 41 expected, so maybe not that great, but he is listed as having 0 errors leading to a goal, so that’s a plus.
They are for sure going to buy Garcia, recent athletic article said they met with his people when we played Girona last week

I think best strategy for midfield is sign Partey to a 1 yr extension, let him and Zubi rotate and there are your 2 6s for next year
You’ve got Rice, Merino, Havertz that can play left 8 (and maybe MLS)
Odegaard, Ethan, Nypan Fabio? (Unless he’s sold) for right 8
LW: New guy, Marti, Trossard
RW: Saka, Ethan, Marti
CF: Havertz/New Guy
LB: MLS/Cala/Tomi?
LCB: Big Gabi/Cala/Tomi?
RCB: Saliba/White/timber
RB: Timber/White/Tomi?
GK: Raya, Garcia
$50M on Zubi, 40-60 on LW, 40-60 on CF, 20-25 on GK, 15 for Nypan
Sell Zinny, Kiwior maybe get like 50 total on them, 100-150 window net
Jorgi, Sterling, Neto, Tierney all gone
