But we had Havertz as a pressure relief valve to go long when teams press us. Merino has been functioning like this since Havertz has been out

We don’t have that, so Trossard can’t be a false 9 next week. Although Newcastle tend to mid/low block us to death in a 5-4-1.

Really need an early goal or 2 to make them come out of it

Would be good because he’s 2 footed, can play RCB & LCB

Assume he’d only come if Kiwior goes

yeah can't imagine us keeping Kiwior and buying him wouldn't make much sense financially

I'm cool with that too. Would let us keep Saliba for a few years

This weekend will be interesting. That 1 point was huge.

Merino out, Trossard's season is probably done, and Rice's season may be done.

Might be a good time to try skelly in the midfield and let cala play left back?

Kai, Declan, and Trossard all in training today.

I’d guess Kai makes the bench

Very interesting.

I know they said Kai could be back before end of season, but hopefully Trossard and Rice are recovered from what appeared to be hamstring injuries. We don’t need them spending all offseason recovering from hamstring surgery.

Looking at the schedule, Chelsea and Villa both play on Friday. So we could be in before our game if they don’t win their games.

Spurs & ManU going to punt both of those games because they’ve got Europa final next week.

I wouldn’t count on Villa & Chelsea dropping points

You never know, those friday games are weird.

We only need 1 point to be in though. None of the teams behind us can catch us on GD, unless newcastle absolutley spanks us. But they would go above us anyway.

Liverpool is trying to create a rivalry with Arsenal because they didn't have one with City. City kept spanking them, except for one year, and in the 6 years those two teams went at it, it was always a friendly rivalry.

We are a direct historical rival that Liverpool loathe. City just paid their way to the top and isn't viewed as a rival no matter how good they are.

It also doesn't help that they haven't beaten us in 3 years and I know that gets in their heads. Last 3 trips to Anfield for us were all draws, they usually don't expect that.

I like this because we didn’t need to sign him and maybe it cools the Saliba talk.

I’m liking this idea of signing zubimendi, gyokeres, and rodrygo.

I would 100% take a punt on this dude if wages were right. He would be a great backup/alternative option alongside Big Vic Gyokeres
