it’s easier on the mind when these type of performances are expected

This club really has had no metal since the 90's.

Arsenal have now dropped 18 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season, more than in the two previous seasons COMBINED (17).

Some of these were red card games, but still wholly unacceptable if you want to compete for a league title

We should've won this game, Palace could have easily won this game. 13 Draws in the League this year with the best defense in the league. Man that hurts. Oh well. Onto Tuesday!!!

Most disappointing thing about today is now you likely need 2 more wins to secure top 5

We’ve got
Bournemouth (H)
Liverpool (A)
Newcastle (H)
Southampton (A)

Not going to be easy with how we’ve looked recently in the PL

That also assumes that Chelsea, City, Newcastle, Nottingham, and Villa don't keep fricking around. They will all drop points. We are okay

I think 4 of these games happened with Saka out. The red card games at the beginning of season, and this game.

I’d like to see Liverpool not have Salah from before Christmas to April.

Having Saka doesn’t have a ton to do with giving up stupid goals, definitely helps when up but multiple, but we were up 2-0 vs Villa and drew that one

We have the least goals scored against in the premier league.

Could we be better? Sure, but we’d still have the best defensive team in the league.

And Saka is our best player. Plus injuries to odegaard, martinelli, Jesus, Havertz. Our goal scoring took a step back.

Yep. Call me a bitch but it is quite literally unlucky.

How we have been playing in the Champions League is really what this team is capable off and no one here can lie and say different.

This team wins the league or is within a point or two if not for all the dumb refereeing and dog shite injuries. I mean something as simple as our LB and RB to start the year. Timber wasn't ready and got hurt, Cala wasn't fully fit and got hurt, Zinchenko was hurt (even tho he doesn't play big games anymore), Ben White was overplayed and got hurt. MLS was always going to play this year but it expedited that and let's be real it took him a few games to be the player we are seeing now.

It is that simple. This hasn't been our year in the league. We are also the most heavily criticized team in England despite being 6 points clear of 3rd and starting a 17 year old for ten games and an 18 year old for 12 of our games. It is a fricking joke. How we are in this position is a miracle not some choke artist narrative that the fig Nevilles and Carraghers of the world want to hammer.

The Champions League has suited us because it let's us score goals with the space that Saka and Martinelli and even Odegaard are afforded. No low block bullshite and heavy fouls on our players. Plus all of the teams in the knockouts of the champions play attacking football outside of Inter. We have space to operate unlike the Premier League where we have no space and are refereed differently.

Arteta is a disgusting manager. He is truly a sensational coach. What he has done in turning Merino into friggin Giroud is special.

Not trying to stir thing sup but from the commentary about the game today they are saying David Raya had a poor game.

I didn't watch but yesterday seems to be down to a few players not being on top of their game.

And also, a big question over starting sterling, who is not going to be our player in a few games.

It was pretty close to one of our worst games of the season, and still should have won. One of the few games this year 11v11 that we were out expected on goals.

It’s clear the team’s focus is elsewhere, frustrating nonetheless to have 1-0 and 2-1 leads and not be able to see the game out.

I'd say that was probably Rayas worst game. Not bad though for that being his 89th Arsenal game. He's allowed to have a bad game in a meaningless game IMO

The point you make about how teams play us in the PL compared to the CL could not be more spot on. I absolutely get why teams play us with a low block in the PL because if they didn't we would expose and destroy everyone. The CL is proof of that. Still sucks and hopefully Arteta can figure it out because I legit have no idea how to beat a low block in the PL where the defenders are so much bigger and physical than the CL.

You need individual mavericks in the middle and on the wings. We have 1 of those (Saka), MLS is emerging, Calafiori has shown some moments, Martinelli was that guy at one time.

PL Mid/Low blocks need rice at 6 and 2 guys that can beat folks with pace, passing and shooting at the 8s, and 2 guys on the wing that can beat a double team.

We’ve had some individual moments doing that vs City this year in Cala and MLS receiving in the half spaces and scoring goals. We just don’t have enough guys that can out athlete the super physical mid/low blocks.

That HAS to be the focus in the summer, AND still be able to play like are in CL

ETA: It’s why we haven’t lost a game to a “Big 6” PL in like 2.5 years. The teams that want to come out and play us vs teams that sit back and can beat us through elite defensive/GK performances + timely counter attacking are the major difference in PL vs CL

Shitter teams drawing us is a win for them. Look at the celebrations of those teams that drew with us, home or away, it's like they won the league
