He has been absolutely tremendous. We are markedly less dynamic offensively in games he doesn't play in.

First surprise of WC announcements: Martinelli made it!! Super pumped and happy for him. Brazilian lower leagues to the World Cup squad in less than 4 years! Selfishly I think he should be above Raphinha, Everton and Rodrygo in the pecking order but I’m just glad he’s there

Europa Leauge Round of 32 draw was this morning.

The two big games that will knock some tough possible opponents out:

Sevilla vs PSV
Manchester United vs Barcelona

Love that 2 of those teams are going home soon!

Def a surprise, I figured he would be the one left out with all the attackers.

Gutted for Gabriel, but he’s going to have another shot at it in 4 years. Plus he’s probably going to start every game for Arsenal post World Cup.

Yeah I’m not too upset about Gabriel missing out. Him getting a break ought to be good for us.
Like I said a few pages back, Gabriel hasn’t even been capped before so there was no chance he gets called up. Silva and Marquinhos have been the #1 pairing for half a decade. And he’s not better than either of those two. But this is Silva’s last WC so maybe next cycle Gabriel gets his shot.

Loved the arse kicking of Chelsea, although I didn’t totally watch it live. Lol

We get ESR back after the break and hopefully everyone is healthy, if we can get Jesus out if his funk we are golden.

As far as I can tell there’s no stream at all of todays game?
Anyways Saka is completely out of the team. Semi strong team, pretty good mix of important players and back ups.

Surprised they are playing Saliba and not Gabriel. Looks like they don’t want to risk Turner before the World Cup which is fine with me.
Also unbelievable there is no broadcast of this game anywhere.

Saliba made the France squad.

So did Giroud and Guendouzi.

After seeing his goal, the other night, I'd take Giroud for a half-a-season loan to try and win the title. Purely as an off-the-bench option.

Would love for this game to be streamed. TBH kinda confused why it isn't.

We are strategically gonna lose this game on purpose

And I'm cool with it.

Whelp 3-1 looks like it’s over. Oh well. We’ll at least have a less crowded schedule in the new year

Anything that helps us in the PL or the Europa league is good with me.

i would have believed it but bringing in martinelli, jesus, xhaka, and zinchenko is obvious arteta wanted one last go

jesus can’t score in any comps

i know he’s frustrated

he’s got to start bagging goals because i’ve been losing faith

Look I get you want goals but the fact that he plays his dick off for us with his work rate means it is okay at the moment. So many goals have been scored because of Jesus.

I wouldn't worry too much yet.

Maybe this will reiterate to the board/club that we are still short a few pieces if we really want to win trophies this season. There is an obvious big step down between our Premier league squad and the team playing Europa/Cup games.

We threw a match to the #6 team in the table (ahead of Chelsea & Liverpool) and I am perfectly OK with that. Only need a draw against #19 Sunday (but should win!) to be top of the table at the break!!
