I was thinking this morning that France probably isn't thrilled with the idea of their top two strikers and their U20 striker fighting for minutes.

To me Benzema is an upgrade over Giroud. He's much better facing goal.

Either way, another CF is a need right now.

One more CM and one more defender and I'd be pleased.

Most likely to Chelsea.

His wages are through the roof.

he's not going anywhere.

i'm coming around more and more on these targets, except for Cabaye. Di Maria for Poldi would be a really positive switch. He'd get the lionshare of PT at LW with Gnabry and Ryo both as intriguing young impact subs. Ryo started training today and AW reiterated he was going to be involved with the first team this year. Di Maria would provide so much better service than what we've been getting and allow Santi to feature centrally. We get so congested around the box, his width could definitely help. and his ability to run forward without needing to play a one-two would help our counterattacking ability.

Benzema would be a good get too, even if I am somewhat hesitant at the fee. he and Giroud could play together, especially late on, which is nice. as stewie mentioned, it'd be nice to get a striker who can do things while facing the goal.

I wish we'd get a little different type of midfielder than Cabaye, but he would be a useful player.

TV5 started training again, but is still a ways off from fitness. a CB would still be nice.

Apparently Guaita is very good aerially. that said, Valencia want waaaaayyyy too much. Maybe Begovic?

I told y'all Poldi is a moron. He'll score a great goal and then he'll forget to play defense for 60 minutes.

he's so frustrating but is good for double digit goals and assists. obviously i'd rather not sell unless we have a replacement in hand.

re: Schalke's interest - isn't he cup-tied now for CL since he played yesterday? those rules are so complicated, i forgot them intentionally. if wolfsburg is interested, i'd be all about them paying us a big fee for him.

I don't think he's that bad defensively. He has a decent enough work rate but is admittedly a bit slow, so he does have trouble tracking back.

I think he's a decent player overall. He went about 15-8 on the year in relatively limited playing time last year if I remember right. He also provides some pretty good service on the left side.

I like poldi. Must be something going on there. But i dont think he disappears anymore than walcott does. He also gave us more than gerv and ox last season.

I haven't followed him since his Arsenal days. Is he an improvement over Arteta at DM?

he's had some injury issues. wasn't a first choice at Milan. he's been training with us for weeks and is just now signing. reeks of desperation. purely a cover signing at DM/full back. hopefully he is healthy enough to contribute some.
