For this fricking game having another cb wouldn't have helped us. Having another LB wouldn't have helped us. FOR THIS GAME. We need a new keeper but the only goal Chez was partially at fault for was the first one.

The big thing we missed this game, and that we've missed for two seasons now has been a DM to replace arteta. We're a title contender when he plays, bottom half of the table when he doesn't. I'm not arguing our need for transfers, but just bc kos got a red card doesn't mean having another CB would've helped this game

If we lose to fenerbache arsene will panic buy like he did in 2011 where we ended up getting Arteta and mertesacker

Gustavo would've made a world of difference today

Partially because he can play CB... which we need.

So the season is one game long? Im not bitching about this game, im bitching about th eother 40 games we have to play with a weak arse squad.

Oh look RVP scores two goals for man u. And you wonder why we havent won shite in 7 years.

Should have kept him, won a trophy last year, then let the fricker walk. Your not spending the money any way.

Yeah having money doesn't mean shite if we don't spend it.

well that blew. i don't even know how to adequately analyze that match. what a clusterfrick. rambo and wilshere aren't a particularly great CM pairing defensively. we really miss Arteta's discipline, positioning, and non-cynical looking cynical fouls which break up forward runs. still, had kos not been sent off, we would have at least drawn IMO. we still could've drawn if not for some unfortunate finishing from Tomas and a couple of great saves by Guzan.

the ref had an absolute shocking performance. szcz probably should've been sent off, but he played advantage and let them take an open shot on goal then called back for the PK, which is fricking wild. never seen that before. kos's two yellows weren't even fouls. vlaar should've been sent off for a clear yellow card foul around the 70min mark in the second half. delph had a really good match though his long periods of agony after non-fouls were really frustrating.

slight positives: Ox looked really great. Giroud did too. nice finish, had some really great link up play. Rambo actually did ok at CB (even though it made zero sense why he was put there). Tomas looked lively.

we were a couple of players light going into the summer. these injuries have been beyond ridiculous though. we absolutely should have bought a defender by now (the rest to me, is just really really unfortunate). that really hurt us, having to move Sagna to LB. we were getting a lot of joy down that side, but Baccy just couldn't function going forward with his left foot.

i don't think they've released anything through reputable sources, but some twitter rumblings say Ox has knee ligament damage :/ really hope that isn't true.

@karlsentk says we are strongly pursuing Ander Herrera

I apologize for the poor showing today. This team will not settle for second best and we will not rest until we achieve our highest goal. A slow start is not a death sentance. We will fight our way to the top and this will be a mere afterthought. This team is full of high class individuals who will fight for a win. We want to be the best team possible for our fans and we promise to work towards that goal. This will be a remarkable season and we all will strive for the best. Go gunners.

yeah. it's been awhile since i reffed, but my initial reaction is that isn't correct. doesn't matter, definitely a PK and probably a red. just odd more than anything.

I would have blown the whistle sooner but I guess he was trying to use advantage the same way he would have outside of the box. And yeah, Szczczcz should have been sent off.

That ref was pretty weird from what I saw.

we're sorta non-plussed. we've been bred for disappointment over the last 10 years

this tweet effectively describes many Arsenal fans today imo: LINK

yeah, when you play advantage outside the box, you don't get both the shot on goal and the FK though. that was my point. you get the advantage...you don't get the full benefit of the advantage (a shot on goal( then if it doesn't work out, pull it back.

i guess he was nice because Gabby touch took him away from goal and we had some covering defenders who were close enough. maybe. seriously have no idea what that dude was thinking though.

the kos one really pissed me off. that was such a fantastic challenge on Gabby. and then the second yellow was just stupid. didn't even touch him. we could've survived szcz getting sent off...

Without signings this team will struggle to finish top 4.
