If Real really have accepted Napoli's bid for Higauin, then

Bidding war about to commence, and it starts at £40m

I am so ashamed.

I'd like to take this time to apologize to all of my fans. I am sorry. Hopefully I never do it again. But I am not able to promise that at this time. I love you all. Please forgive me.

Please forgive me. Being the only female on the soccer board, I beg that you won't look at me poorly. I promise to at least back it up on the field.

Also news that Bernard will be in London for his medical friday...

How about we give Theo to LFC for Suarez now?

Watching the as live replay. first half just ended.

starters: fab, jenks, baccy, per, gibbs, arteta, ramsey, theo, rosicky, ryo, giroud

-giroud scored on a free header in the 3rd minute. great ball by rosicky crossing it in, nice header, but the defending was awful. giroud didn't really do much else. his better attacking opportunities later came with him driving at the defense, which is not at all his strength and he looked bad doing it. didn't really have much to work with. this game has been the most like a regular match out of all of the exhibitions, and there isn't the requisite creativity with that set to unlock defenses that are compact.

-ryo scored a PK. probably wasn't a penalty, but the PK was a very nice finish. hasn't looked particularly good. just solid. only a couple of giveaways, but he hasn't looked 100%. he hesitated to use his burners on a couple of occasions. maybe he hasn't passed that mental hurdle after his ankle injury. he didn't drive at defenders or try and take anyone on, which was kind of disappointing. almost had a goal early on when a ball fell to him in the box. nice hit with his left, but just wide.

-ramsey is fricking everywhere. another great half for him. his motor is something else. continuing to show confidence on the ball.

-theo was kinda meh. had a chance to assist a wide open Giroud, shot himself and was saved. tried to dribble past a few guys, only really worked once (but that one time was quite pretty.

-baccy was our best CB again. Nagoya had 2 brilliant chances to score due to lax defending from Per and Jenks. Sagna had a great last ditch tackle to blow up the first, the second was an all time terrible scuff.

-nothing really else notable. we had a lot of possession. they were in a 4-4-2, maybe 4-4-1-1, but that generally meant 9 were behind the ball at most times. they did move forward well a few times and our breaks looked dangerous. otherwise, we didn't look particularly dangerous.

God damn that was so fricking pretty by Zelalem. I'm going to cry so hard when he chooses Germany.

Final 3-1. second half thoughts:

-Per, Baccy, and Jenkinson played the full 90. Per was culpable on the goal, but it was a nice header and a good cross.

-Zelalem's assist was obviously ridiculous. He played a similarly ridiculous ball which Akpom should've put away. He might have the best vision on our team already. Santi maybe, but in addition the vision, he disguises his intentions extremely well (though seeing the defender as well as the run is vision, i suppose). Jack, Rambo, and others see runs frequently, but their balls get cut out. Otherwise, it was probably GZ's worst preseason match. not that it was bad by any means, just got dispossessed once and a couple of bad passes. He's so languid, sometimes he doesn't turn and burst (like Jack or Rosicky might) when he should. The one time he tried it tonight was one of the few times he shouldn't have because a man was right there. That's quite possibly the most exciting thing about him, to me. He has this passive, languid playmaker style, but he's also really athletic. The potential there to harness and combine those traits is very exciting and maybe unique. Özil is the only one I can think of with a similar mix of the two, but I don't know if he's as athletic as Zelalem.

-Jack forced a lot of stuff tonight. He looks healthy, but he was trying too hard a lot of times.

-Gnabry should play for us this year IMO, though it would depend on signings. He's better than Ryo ATM and should take Gervinho's spot in the squad. if we do end up getting someone like Bernard, he should probably go on loan. he's EPL/Bundesliga ready.

-Rambo played about 65. still could improve in the final third, but stamina, energy, tackling and dribbling skill was impressive.

-Aneke came on for Rambo in CM. Didn't really do anything impressive. if he sticks around at Arsenal, it'll be because he converts to CB. i think he goes on loan this year and gets sold next summer though.

-Poldi played striker for the first 20 mins of the second half then moved out left when Akpom came on. again, nothing impressive. i hate his movement. he seemed to just pop up wherever the frick he wanted to on the pitch. he played like it was a U8 game.

-Fabianski almost had two huge blunders distributing the ball. like crazy bad blunders.

"Close on Suarez" according to a Uruguayan journalist and a famous Brazilian journalist just confirmed we've landed Bernard. Holy shite. i might die.
