Arseblog's recap was fricking hilarious.
quote:
A quite massive three points yesterday, achieved without key players, against a good side in excellent form, and despite a referee who ignored countless fouls by the home side.
I thought the first half was mostly even and that our somewhat makeshift midfield of Rosicky, Wilshere and Cazorla combined well, especially with Flamini anchoring. Attempts at fluency were made difficult by good Newcastle defending, but also their ability to foul with impunity. How Tiote went through the entire game without a card is, and always will be, a mystery to me.
Giroud took nasty studs to the top of his foot but then got booked himself for a foul moments later. I’ve got no issue with his yellow as long as the one that should have been given beforehand is issued. Tiote pulled someone back. We didn’t really create a great deal, some shots from distance from Rosicky and Cazorla were little trouble to Krul.
Tiote kicked someone. And late on we put ourselves in danger. Koscielny carelessly gave the ball away leading to a passage of play which saw Szczesny forced into making a save and from the subsequent corner they hit the bar with a looping header. It remained even at the break.
Newcastle put in some dangerous looking crosses early in the second half but that bloke Loic Remy, who everyone wants us to sign, didn’t seem interested in them at all. Maybe he was keen on not upsetting us, or something. Tiote booted an Arsenal player.
Then Tiote stood on Cazorla’s heel, quite deliberately. Still no booking but at least we got a free kick this time. The deliciousness of scoring from a Tiote foul still tickles me this morning. Theo Walcott curled in a very good dead ball, Giroud got between the central defenders and glanced home the header. 1-0 to the Arsenal.
It was almost 2-0 a few moments later when Theo was put through, his shot was saved but he headed the rebound onto the bar. When it came out to Giroud he miskicked from a couple of yards out. Tiote crunched someone and Newcastle got it clear.

Giroud and Gibbs are definitely out for Cardiff on Wednesday. I figure Arsene will opt to start Bendtner, and give Podolski a more sizable role either off the bench or starting out left. Monreal will obviously start in place of Gibbs.

also, Rambo out 3 weeks, ozil 2 to 3 weeks, Walcott and rosicky are doubts, TV5 and Monreal are still sick, and Wilshere is a doubt. wooooooo

Arsene just called and offered me a month long contract. Should I go?

I don't know, I think you can use that as leverage and maybe get a bar tab at Finn's

That is my master plan.

----------------Scezney----------------------
Baccy------Per----------Kosc-----------Monreal (suck it up)
--------Arteta--------------Flamini----------
---Serge-----------Santi------------Podolski
--------------Beowulf-----------------------

That isn't a bad squad. Who is on the bench?

looks like Theo, Jack and TV5 were at training, Rosicky and Monreal weren't. if we roll out
szcz
baccy-per-kos-tv5
arteta-jack
theo-santi-poldi
beowulf
we should be able to handle cardiff. just sucks that rambo and ozil and probably giroud are unavailable for spurs.

Walcott, Wilshere and Vermaelen were all in full first team training today. You can see them in the photo gallery of today's training on Arsenal.com. Would be surprised if all are "doubts" for tomorrow.

Phew. Need to start the second half better than the first. We cannot leave any points behind at home against Cardiff.

Well that sucks about ozil and Ramsey but it'll be nice to see Serge and Podolski get a full game again. Even be interesting to see how bendtner can do with a full game. I don't really care about the fa cup this year, and it sounds like if we can make it past this game most of the guys should only miss another game or two at most. As long as we have Per, Kos, and Szczesny I'm confident

I'm kind of with you, but frick I would hate to get knocked out by Spurs.

Me too. All three have been very good. That crazy Pole still worries me at times.

I wanna see Serge get another good run, too, though it sounds now like he may not be needed. Think he's looked good when he's played. He's similar to a lot of our attackers in that he likes to get inside and get the ball at his feet, but he's a nice player.
Guessing we'll see a pretty standard back four (maybe Verm on the left), Arteta and Jack holding, Walcott, Santi, Podolski, and Klaus up top.
