You shouldn't be worried about your offense. Stoke is a miserable club. They don't even play to win, ever. Arsenal will be fine. The start last year was horrible and you all ended up 3rd.

Very much so. Steve Bould seems to have had quite the positive influence on our organization as a defense. The scary thing is that would could improve as the year goes on.

A little worried. We need some more quality in the midfield to go with Arteta and Cazorla. Besides that I think we will get better each week as our players hit their stride and learn how to play with one another and develop some chemistry.

Yeah, eventually we will get going. We didn't have that many preseason games this year to prepare because we didn't hold the Emirates Cup. The fact we have been so miserly in allowing chances is a big improvement on last year.

The only thing that would concern me is until you start breaking down these sagging defenses, lower clubs won't stop doing it. As with Chelsea last year, that is frustrating to watch. In fact it was miserable.

Pleased overall. Like most of said the defense is solid and the attack will get better with time.
We've got to find someone to put Diaby on the bench though. Feel like if we had someone more dynamic in that spot we would be so much better, I really don't think it has to be a true DM either. There are times I like that he tries to take defenders on and dribble past them but he's killing our attacking flow.

Yea I'm over my true dm thing now that I have seen we are playing well organized and stingy d. We need a Sahin type in all honesty. Another guy who can pick out a pass. And now with Giroud showing his good aerial and physical presence with should work on our aerial crossing especially on the right where the ball can come into Giroud on the near post or in the center and Podolski on the back post.

We have better options this year in terms of a plan B with Giroud, who looks to be pretty decent in the air.

Wouldn't mind seeing a bit of 4-4-2 this season with Giroud up front and Podolski playing off of him. Santi and Ox wide. Arteta and our new signing in the middle. Thoughts?

Well we do get Rosicky and Wilshere (hopefully) back soon so I think we should be alright in the creativity department. I'm not sure if we can change to the 4-4-2 effectively, as that would expose our lack of physical power. It might suit Diaby more, since the space currently occupied by Cazorla would be vacated.

Apparently we have reps in Swansea regarding Angel Rangel.

I missed the game. How'd Geoff Cameron look in his debut ?
Posted on 8/26/12 at 6:46 pm to UASports23
He played very well. He made a lot of good tackles. They didn't have much of the ball, but he wasn't the one giving it away. He's their new long throw specialist, but honestly, his aren't that good. I suspect he'll be getting a lot of PT at DM this season.

Good. USMNT needs him to grow desperately

He was excellent defensively, and sound otherwise, nothing special creatively or attacking minded.. but that's not what he's there for so I'd give him a 9/10 or something like that honestly.

He definitely a starter for the national team from now on. Solid defensively and he is calm and also good on the ball.
Posted on 8/26/12 at 8:05 pm to DB10_AFC
He was way better than Glenn Whelan. He did lose the ball a couple of times, but he was Stoke's best midfielder.

I'd definitely be down for either of them. That said, after watching the first 2 matches we need to improve our play on the Wings. Our wingers just seem to get lost out there. We have talented wingers, so it isn't simply because we are fielding scrubs, but something with the formation and players out there just doesn't seem to be working well for our wingers.
