Ox has a good range of passing. He has the right attitude. If Wenger told him to go in and tackle I believe he would. Can't say how effective he would be. Coquelin is strange to me. Every time I watch him I'm impressed but he doesn't seem to have that extra bit of whatever he needs to push on for a starting role. He could develop into a good player with a run of games but I don't think we can afford to give that run of games right now.

He might be better suited for the Cazorla role.
I really hope Coquelin and Frimpong make it here. Then we would have two midfielders who could play the 4-4-2 without any limitations. Also I love the tenacity of each of the players. It's clear though that each has their weakness. Frimpong in terms of passing and Coquelin in terms of physique.

I have my doubts over Frimpong but I think Coquelin will make it. His versatility is a huge plus. Frimps needs to mature as a person and quit with all of the off the field stuff. Him being always injured doesn't help either.

I'm fearing we are just going to play through Cazorla like we use to play through Fabregas. Our movement needs to improve in the final third in a big way.

Nous alert. Are you Ian Darke?
[sorry, I'll actually have some analysis in my next post which i am researching now]

My main complaint over the past two games.

I think The Ox is very Rooney-esque. Can play a number of positions from CM to ST. He was great in the first half against Milan last year at CM. Fitness will be a key if he gets an opportunity there. I looked up his stats on Stats Zone from that game. Nothing really jumped out (1/2 on tackles, 25/31 passing, 1 clearance). Diaby has been useful winning balls in the air in midfield, but I wouldn't mind at least seeing what The Ox can do in that position over the next couple of matches.
I don't know how highly Wenger rates Coquelin and Frimpong, though I don't think Frimpong can be counted as in the mix this season. When he comes back, (unless we're in terrible shape injury-wise) he'll get loaned out. Clearly Wenger prefers the bird in the hand (Coquelin) to the over-priced birds in the bush (M'Vila, Biglia, Capoue, etc.).
ETA: To clarify, I'm not saying we rate Coquelin higher than those guys, but it isn't a position we're so weak in we're forced to overpay.

Dembele looked like a beast against man u. Would love to see him.
Also with all the navas talk, would have rathered taken adam Johnson. Already proven in the epl and isn't scared to leave his house

No way Navas ever leaves Spain.
I would have taken Johnson in a heartbeat. Not trolling, I think he's just as good as Walcott. Sometimes Theo looks better. Sometimes Johnson does. When they are both on they are fantastic players.

We sold Lansbury to NFFC. Always kind of liked him, but he clearly never did enough on loan to merit any PT here. Best to get him off the books.
ETA: All in all, that's 15 players out the door this summer at Arsenal (a lot of those were fringe youngsters who had professional terms but weren't extended).

Yup did it say how much we got for him?
Posted on 8/28/12 at 8:24 am to DB10_AFC
£1mil. Another £1mil if NFFC make the EPL in the next two years is the rumor.

Not bad. Now if we could get rid of the real deadwood.

I just asked that question in the transfer thread... Hearing Man City are gonna try and scoop him up late...

Guess Walcott going one way, Dzeko the other is being rumored.
As others have said on twitter, only one year left on his contract so he'll probably be sold. FTGE. After how well we started, this transfer window has been a disaster.
