Im not offended just annoyed with them. Their fans are pretty much assholes. Booing Ramsey last year. Come on. I just pretty much hate Stoke the club, its manager, and its fans. Most of the players too. Dirty players.

But seriously, get over it. Shawcross had his mom pick him up from the stadium and he was crying as he left after the Ramsey tackle. I don't get the Stoke hate. It happened. Let it go.
Stoke had 2 reds and 60 yellows last season to our 4 reds and 64 yellows. It's hard to say they are a dirtier team, to be honest.

Stoke City fans booed Aaron Ramsey's every touch last year because they decided that Ramsey didn't accept Shawcross' apology the right way or whatever. Shawcross can cry til the cows come home for all I care it still doesn't change the fact that he is one of the dirtiest players in the EPL. I don't understand how some Arsenal fans don't get the rivalry especially because it is a fairly new one. My only conclusion is that those Arsenal fans never watched and paid attention to a Stoke City v Arsenal game.

No. He broke Ramsey's leg in six places. That is in addition to hurting Theo the year before. Ramsey will never reach his potential.

Uh, it's pretty easy to say they are a dirtier team from the way they play. Our red cards happened very early in the season. One was a pretty controversial decision involving Gervinho and Barton. The other was a second yellow on Frimpong in the first Liverpool game. I can't remember if Jenkinson's was a straight red, but it was against Man U, and I think he was the last defender. I can't remember Djourou's red, but I think it was on 2 yellows.
In comparison, Stoke has systemically targeted our players. Right before the Stoke game where Ramsey was injured, Ricardo Fuller talked about how they always tried to play more physical with us because they believed we were weak in the center of midfield.
But believe Pulis all you want. It's a ridiculous argument though.

I don't listen to Pulis.
Anyway, that article that was linked this week about how Arsenal's defense, with our preferred back four, has been the best in the EPL had a side bar that linked to other articles on that website. One was a statistical analysis on the dirtiest players and teams in the Premier League. You guys should give it a read. Stoke doesn't appear as high on that list as many of you guys would like to believe. It surprised me, to be honest.

I don't understand how you can be an Arsenal fan and not at least dislike Stoke much less defend them.

So if someone else uses a statistic before me I'm not allowed to use the same statistic without "quoting" someone else?

Pulis uses that same tired argument every year.

They were last in the fair play table last year. LINK
Believe what you want though. Having watched plenty of Stoke games from when they were promoted, it's pretty clear that their physical play is a tactical decision.

Pay attention to the game and you will notice their tatics. Cazorla will be kicked all game long I promise you that. And watch if they don't target Diaby. He is injury prone and can have a bit of a temper.

It's coincidental that you would happen to have those stats on hand, though, isn't it? It's a stupid argument both ways because it lacks the proper context.

What happened to Ramsey was really, really shitty. There is no doubt about it. Do I dislike Stoke and Shawcross for it? Yes. Do I think Stoke plays a shite brand of soccer and their manager is a tool? Yes. And for the record, I hope we destroy Stoke tomorrow. That said, I don't demonize the other team. I don't do it in any sport. I don't like Stoke, but I don't get the total hatred. Maybe I just don't get that worked up about these things, or I'm missing the passion of a "real" fan. I focus my attention on supporting our players, not worrying about whether or not I dislike the other team to an adequate level.

I certainly don't like Stoke, but for me it's a matter of principle. I hate the way they play football. I also hate Sam Allardyce because of his approach to the game.
In addition to that, their fans acted like Ramsey was at fault for the Shawcross incident. That's not right in my book. Shawcross lost his chance at an England cap because of it, but it's clear that Ramsey has moved on. I'm calling a spade a spade, though. Pulis and their fans don't deserve any of our respect.

You can support your team and hate another team. I fact its quite logical. We hate Stoke because obviously they do or did something that we objected to. Its not like we are just picking on someone. That is why it is called a rivalry. It will be an emotional game for the players too. That should kinda explain where these feelings are coming from.

Yeah...but Mexico
Ok, you have a point. I do hate Mexico. That said, I was in the 5% of US fans at the 2011 Gold Cup final, so I have a perfectly legitimate reason to hate that fan base (much more so than I hate their players, to be honest).
ETA: Their fans and coach do seem classless, I'll admit that. Anyway, this game should be a fun one, and I'm waking up to watch it.
