Where did you see that? That is not close to what I'm hearing.

Jenkinson will be a solid player in a couple of years. He just lacks composure on the ball due to lack of games at this level. Just a raw player.

Agreed the passing will need to be faster and more precise. Cannot afford to concede on the counter.

Yea be he isn't ready right now. With Sagna injured you would think Arsene would bring in a veteran right back as a stop gear for the next year or two. Even now I would start Yennaris or Coquelin over Jenkinson at right back.

Jenks is terrible at linking play, which makes Theo completely ineffective, but he's fast, alright in the air and not terrible at defending (meaning he isn't drawn upfield like the left side of our defense usually is). Basically he is what you would expect a 20 year old RB would be with less than 25 apps for our first team.

I don't think we will concede very much from open play this season. We looked rather miserly against Sunderland. Stoke will test us in terms of set pieces, but hopefully having PM4 at CB will help us.

What I really want is better ball movement from the CM opposite Arteta. Diaby is as ponderous on the ball as Ramsey, and is not nearly as much a threat to make a final pass. I remember only one killer ball from Diaby ever, and I think that was the Everton game from 2007. Diaby is a magnificent dribbler though, and maybe in a couple of games his runs will amount to something.

Not Yennaris. He has even less experience than Jenks. Coquelin is a good option to have, and I'd to see him play there.

Exactly so we better buy a midfielder in mold of Sahin who can pass the ball around or someone who will sit and let Arteta push up the field more. I think he is more than capable of being more creative. He was his whole time at Everton. He and Cazorla seem to have instant chemistry between the two. Diaby is an athlete and can dribble. He can't pick out pass most of the time and he will throw in a tackle or two every so often. He is a better option than Ramsey but we need a signing in the midfield big time. How long will Diaby be healthy really? As far as the defense goes you are right. We are improving. We are already more solid in our organization. That will eliminate those silly counter attack goals that we always seem to do as you mentioned. Scary to think our defense, in theory, should improve as the year goes on.

Yeah but wou you honestly be complaining if we sewed up the same deal? I probably wouldn't give it a second though tbh.

Also, can someone update me on what happened to Djourou? Is he out with a perma-crocked hammy'r somethin?

Any chance we could still go after van der weil? He could be a permanent replacement fir sagna. 2 broken legs isnt promising for his future. He akready looked a step slow after the first come back.

Also makes me wish we went hard after vertonghen. He could be the dm or play cb.

Please don't speak of Sagna with such an elegiac tone. It's just that...he's dear to my fragile little heart.

Sagna looked fine last year after the first leg break. In fact he was one of our best players in the 2nd half of the season. Remember his header against Spuds?

Some news on the Walcott situation.
Arsenal hope to secure Theo Walcott's future with new five-year deal
Arsenal throw cash at Walcott offer in bid to keep winger at Emirates Im not his biggest fan but it would crazy to sell him this window. Hopefully he can be more consistent this year. He has moments that make you think he has figured it out only to be let down by his next outing. That said I really hope he finds his form and it sticks this year. We will need him to be productive and I think Cazorla can help bring the best out of him.

I don't really think he's a better option than Ramsey in all honesty. Diaby's an average passer in a side that passes a lot. Ramsey can make a pass but hesitates with the final ball. I don't really want either of them at the moment, but I think Ramsey is the marginally better option against most sides, though Diaby should be useful against Stoke. But I don't think we need another midfielder without letting one of our mids go.

His return and our shooting up the table was not a coincidence.

ETA: He also makes Walcott much more effective on the wing.

Well the problem is we have too many injured/injury prone midfielders. We need to bring someone in to play alongside Arteta. Diaby and Ramsey aren't good enough.
