Whaddya think of Tottenham!?!?!?
The B52... Samurai Bendtner just scored a hat trick against the United States. The amount of shame this brings to me as an American is unspeakable.
I've been trying to find ways to fit Jenkinson back into the team all year. I desperately want him back in some capacity. Think he could still give a lot to the team, and I don't think it would have to be at RB.

The more things change... The more they stay the same. Still, it hurts just as badly every time.
What if he doesn't play along the back line? What if he could convert to CDM and play backup to or alongside Coquelin? I know Wenger thinks Chambers has potential there as does Bielik, but Jenkinson is tall, strong, a decent passer, and is fast enough for midfield. If Coquelin and Jenks could play the double-pivot role, that really allows our offensive players to have more freedom in attack. Now, understandably, if we buy Schneiderlin or his equivalent in the Summer, this argument completely goes away.
I know this is more of an emotional hope than a truly wise soccer move, but on the back of this Bellerin extension is there any way we keep Jenkinson this summer? He's had a very good season at West Ham this year, but Bellerin clearly appears to be the future at RB.
Looking at Jenkinson, though, he doesn't really have the build of a RB. He's built more as a CDM or a CB. Is there a possibility of keeping him if he can learn a new position?
Even if he is squad depth, I just think Jenkinson is a good guy to keep within the team. He is, at the very least, a solid player who will absolutely give his all for the club. That being said, there simply might not be room for him.
Thoughts?

They are likely to park a few buses in front of their goal. They simply don't allow goals to be scored against them. That being said, they also cannot score. They only allowed a single goal in group competition, but they also only scored 4 goals in 6 games. They pretty much win games in the French league 1-0 or tie 0-0.
I think Theo might come on for Welbeck this game because we should be on the front foot most of the time, and he is more clinical in front of goal. I would imagine Bellerin comes back in for Chambers. He offers more going forward and has the speed to catch teams on the break. Otherwise, I imagine nothing will change from the weekend game.
For once, Per won't be the slowest person on the field. Berbatov to start at striker for them.

is there an app so I can watch particular teams rather than what NBC shows?
There is the LiveExtra app on which you can watch any Premier League game.
However, NBC also opens up extra channels when more than one game is on at the same time. If you would rather watch on tv, just find out what those channels are from NBC Sports and tune in at game time. They won't open up until the game starts, but they are there.
Hope it helps. Always good to see a new Gooner.

Very interesting lineup today.

I'm not so sure the DCM spot was the problem for Arsenal today, especially in possession. Coquelin was, statistically, tied for the highest rated player on the team with a 7.66 rating. Ramsey and Cazorla rated out at 6.6 and 6.1, respectively. Coquelin won 67% of aerial duels and kept 77% possession when they were in his face the entire game. Ramsey and Caz, on the other hand were on 70% and 75%.
Most of the DCM position's play is meant to break up play, and he did that pretty well. The second step is to make short passes and get the ball into the best playmaker's hands. For a DCM on our team, that's usually Caz, Ramsey, or Giroud (or play a part in the circle of frustration DCM to Per to Kosc to DCM all on the center circle - Rinse and repeat). With Giroud also having a below-average performance and getting too easily bullied, I'm not sure we could expect much more from the DCM position no matter who is playing it.

Think we'll see the exact lineup we saw vs. Villa.
I think the exact same lineup is also likely. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rosicky get a start. He has been playing well and typically does well against Tottenham. Wenger might also want to have a little more defensive support on the flanks with the game being away. Ozil and Theo aren't known for their defensive work ethic.
I also expect this to be the biggest test for Coquelin. Kane and Eriksen have been playing very well, so he will have quite the test on defense. To add to his defensive responsibilities, the Spuds' recipe for success against Chelsea was to get into the face of Matic and win the ball high up the field. I expect the same game plan will be used to test Coquelin in possession.

Theo could be very difficult to keep as far as wage demands go. When he signed his extension a few years ago, the circumstances at the club were very different than they are now. At that point, the club had to do everything they could to stop the star player exodus, so they made him one of the highest paid players at the club at that time.
This contract is completely different as he is not one of the best players on the team anymore. It could be argued that he isn't even a starter if everyone on the team is healthy.
He is also in direct competition with the Ox, Gnabry and even Welbeck to an extent as far as wings with similar skill sets. While Theo is probably the best finisher of that group and might make the most dangerous runs, he is behind at least one if not all of them in defensive contribution, passing, positioning, etc. Therefore, the club will have to make a decision as far as who they want to keep, as keeping theo may block the Ox, Gnabry and/or Welbeck. If he doesn't block them and he gets blocked by one or all of them, then we have another disgruntled player who will want more play time than he is afforded.
I really enjoy watching Theo play, and I think he brings an explosiveness to the team that just isn't there when he's out of the lineup, but I would only take him at the right wage. I'm certainly not paying him a ton of money to stay, and I doubt the club would, either. He's no longer a player that the club MUST keep. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets sold in the summer.

At first I was pumped that FOX was just collecting all of the worst announcers/pundits and was hoping they bring Twellman over, as well. Then, I would only have to listen to the awful during the World Cups (small price to pay for weekly sanity). However, Fox has the Bundesliga next year, and I was really looking forward to watching it. I suppose the mute button will be used in full force.
Ramsey out for four weeks... Awesome
Coquelin is a short term loan, but Jenkinson's was a full-season. Typically, the longer a loan is set, the more difficult it is to recall them.

I don't know much about him, and I haven't seen him play, but at this point, anything is a step in the right direction. Hope this story is true.
That... that is, unfortunately, not surprising at all.

I've no idea if Debuchy can play centrally or not. After Wednesday, I don't even know if he can play a full 90 minutes.
Kosc is a serious doubt for Saturday, and Chambers is suspended due to the red card last week. Monreal is definitely out. Gibbs is a game time decision. I think even Isaac Hayden is injured. Could be starting Semi Ajayi at CB against Newcastle.
Seems to be a running theme this season, but who on earth is going to play in the back against Stoke?
Monreal and Debuchy definitely out. Kosc is doubtful. Gibbs is a late fitness test. We even extended the loan of Coquelin, so he cannot fill in as an emergency lb.
Could be a long, cold, rainy night in Stoke tomorrow.

I think Jenkinson was loaned out because Wenger originally believed Chambers to be the backup RB. It wasn't until Wenger saw Chambers in practice that he realized his CB/CDM potential.
Will be glad to have Jenkinson back next season. Think he will add quality depth to the squad, and really wish we had him this season.
I also think Wenger didn't buy a CDM because he believes Chambers is the potential CDM of this team. If we wouldn't have had CB injuries, he would have already played Chambers there. Chambers grew up playing there at Southampton. The only reason he started at RB for them in the senior team was due to lack of depth. He's a CDM at heart with potential at CB.

Certainly no lead for either team will be safe in this game. RVP will bring his best, and we still have some combination of Rooney, Falcao, Mata, and/or Di Maria to contend with.
Luckily, their defense is almost as threadbare as ours, so we should be able to score some goals.
