Adu (yes, that one) failed to get a contract at Blackpool after a trial this week.

The Blackpool supporter I was talking to said it was this week. Maybe he came in earlier and finally got officially sent back?

Nah this is pretty old news. And it was never officially a trial, just a training.

No comments about Geoff scoring this weekend? yeah he was culpable for the first goal scored but that's a rarity and he made up for it.

...twice as many goals in the EPL as Jozy

Gedion Zelalem backed out of the Germany U-17 team, so he won't be captied to them yet, thankfully. Supposedly Klinsmann is trying to work out the citizenship kinks.

Gooch had this amazing, non-Gooch-like run last week.

Rubio Rubin is a true MURICAN.

Nice writeup on him here: LINK

quote:

“My Dad is a die-hard Mexican fan,” Rubin said, laughing. “He always gave me the nudge that, ‘You can have the option to one day play for Mexico.' But I always told my Dad that would never happen because I was born in America and it’s in my heart 100% that I want to play for my country—which is the United States."
"I just love my country so much and it’s red, white, and blue for me. It’s the best feeling. I’ve been with the youth national teams and it’s amazing to wear the crest.”

Lynden Gooch is playing well for Sunderland and has moved up to the U-21 side. He has some pretty highlight reel worth goals in this article here:

I actually don't think that Jozy's comparable at all to Drogba, Lukaku, Balotelli, etc. His style is much more comparable to (you'll no doubt attack me for this) Shane Long.

How is Jozy comparable to a off-shoulder poacher who really doesn't participate in the build-up play? Jozy can't really run beyond the last defender like Long can. Different players in my view. Jozy has to play with his back toward goal as the lynchpin of the attack. He isn't good enough to do it at the moment. Jozy gets compared to Emile Heskey a lot, but he's not all that different from other target strikers. Drogba and Adebayor developed as goalscorers late, but players like Lukaku and Balotelli are different in that they can run beyond the defense in a way that Jozy can't, thus they are more complete strikers, whereas Jozy is quite limited.

He's not. But look at who is making the point.

You just know that if Agudelo was representing Colombia, he'd have been granted his permit the first time around.

Brooks scored the winning goal in his league match this weekend.
Supposedly he looked really good on defense as well.

In other Germerican news, Boyd had his second brace in a row, scoring both goals in his teams victory against Red Bull Salzburg (2-1).
