Bringing in Boyd just wasn't the sensible thing. He's played great for Rapid Vienna but hasn't gotten much time with U.S. and hasn't been great in the limited time he's received.
I haven't even watched enough of Boyd to know what kind of player he is. I know he's scoring goals for his club which is great but he seems more like our forward of the future. But if we were to bring in anyone over Wondo it would have been Landon and that's not even up for debate.

I'm sure Jurgen brought the players that give us the best chance to win. I don't see how you can just say that this guy should have made the team just because Jozy got hurt. At least wait until his replacement actually plays a game before you freak out.

I'm not arguing that Boyd should have been on the team. Just going with the premise that he and Jozy are like-for-like.

If Boyd was on the squad, he would not start in place of the injured Altidore. He simply isn't good enough.
Donovan still should have made the squad, and IMO started. Put him in Bradley's spot at CAM and move Bradley to Bedoya's spot... or put Donovan in Bedoya's spot. Either way, we have quality in our Midfield attack that we are badly missing now. Start Bradley, Beckerman, Jones, Donovan and we have the guys to defend and the guys to hold on to the ball and build an attack.
