I think he's played a total of 16' since the Gold Cup and had the flu recently.

Paredes

Not a bad call, Gregg has said before that he finds him intriguing as a player. I also wouldn’t mind seeing another CM like Green or De La Torre.

Was trying to go with guys that can be in Nashville in a few hours and without having to worry about jetlag.

And Ferreira has essentially been playing as a CM and has good chemistry with Pepi.

Yeah, but Ferreira just isn’t very good.

He can play striker or as one of the double tens. I’m not convinced he’s full national team material but saying he’s not good is silly. He’s one of Dallas’ better players and is only 20.

Not sure how fair that is, he's had more good games with the USMNT and FCDallas than bad.

He's very good with his off ball positioning and always seems to find himself in dangerous spots, a lot like Zardes, except he's a better passer and finisher.

Doesn't have the same elite work rate as Zardes, but Ferreira is definitely a useful player at his age.

I thought he was very average in Olympic qualifying. He’s not full USMNT material - at least not yet.

He definitely could've played better, but I think that had more to do with the service around.

I'm note necessarily saying he should be called in to every camp, but he's definitely in our pool of strikers that could get hot and factor into World Cup contention.

Well I guess we’ll just agree to disagree.

What specifically do you not like about his game?

The results are there. Dude has had 6 caps between the USMNT and U-23 and he's got 3 goals and 3 assists.

Again, he's not at the top of my striker depth chart, but considering how wishy-washy that position for us is, he's in that group of under-21 striker options along with Hoppe, Dike and Pepi where I hope at least one or two of them can become useful for the USMNT.

We're also talking about the #26 guy on a roster that is already missing several players to injury/club situation.

I’d like to see Dike run with the 1st team

I think Dike has played one game since the Gold Cup. He’s not coming into this squad.

Shouldn't Hoppe be on this team? I know he is in a lower level in Germany, but he is the type of a-hole you want on your team and seems to make big plays.

Or am I being too nostalgic about the Gold Cup?

This past weekend was the first time he played since then and he's currently in Spain in the process of signing with a new club.

He's about to be announced as a new Real Mallorca signing, so they probably will allow him to get settled before they start calling him in for qualifiers

Edit: I got Guru'd

That’s my thinking. Maybe they were trying to help him get this deal done? No doubt he deserves it.
