Say what you will about the quality of the Gold Cup, we’ve had some awesome, exciting games so far, and it’s only the group stage.

Yep, in terms of group stage matches, this year has been the highest quality that I can remember.

Added a decent Qatar squad in the mix, while Honduras and El Salvador have taken a step up.

Oh my God, that was almost an immaculate free kick from El Salvador.

Off the post.

This has been an entertaining game, especially the second half.

Is it announced which Semi Final will be in Houston at NRG? Will the US be in that draw? Live in Houston and would like to go if there is a chance they are on that side.

Speaking of injuries, has anyone heard an update on Walker Zimmerman?

Nope, no one has really said anything about Arriola either.

Gregg: “Okay Jonathan, we booked your flight back to Denver.”
JL: “But I’m not injured, Coach.”
Gregg: “Yes, you are. See you in Qatar.”

Akinola is out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury. Will likely miss most, if not all, of WCQ.

Decent matches on tonight. We’ll play loser of CRC-Jamaica in the QF, and I think the last game of group stage will be the best one. Qatar-Honduras is the only WC caliber matchup of the group stage. Qatar defending AFC champs and I expect Honduras could finish 3rd in WCQ.

If anyone is still asleep on Honduras, they need to wake the hell up. They are wayyyy better than they were last qualifying cycle.
