Just listened to the square ball. That was a tough one

Late that night I saw the photo of Bielsa being driven away, with a copy of The Square Ball’s Campeon Special in his hands. Ever since that magazine was published, I’ve regretted writing about spending my birthday of the promotion season queuing up to buy tickets in person while feeling ill, unadvisedly drinking a load of coffee, then shitting myself before I could reach the McDonald’s on Elland Road. If Bielsa has read that article, I’d like him to know that soiling myself while buying a ticket for a game that eventually took place behind closed doors was still far more enjoyable than him being sacked for my birthday this year.

What’s the reaction from the fans been on the hire?

Most are pretty excited it’s him and not someone like Allardyce
There are a few “but he’s a yank” types but whatever. His first interview is winning people over who were on the fence

If you zoom in between Koch and Roberts it took me like 30 minutes to realize that mysterious looking baw is just Meslier slouching in his chair

Victor Orta will leave Leeds United at the end of this season, along with Angus Kinnear. The 49ers want to bring in their own board of directors, which will likely have a very different structure.

I like the assistant hire Marsch made with Cameron Toshack son of John the former Wales coach. Great track record with young players at @etm’s swansea

I enjoyed his write ups on the niners playoff run while trying to figure out how our football works

I get what he’s saying about Bielsa being so much more than just football, but he’s taking it overboard with all of the “well now we’re just another club sacking managers for not getting results, so with Marsch I only care about wins and that’s all he cares about anyway.” I’m curious to know what he was thinking the day after Bielsa was hired, was he asking what kind of humanitarian he is and what kind of impact might he have on the city? Or was he wondering whether he could get the club out of the Championship?
