Man, I still cannot believe that I won't be guaranteed at least 3 matches to hang on every touch for the national team this summer. I am a sports fanatic and have seen all my teams win at least one title (except for Orlando) including 2 college football NCs and a MLB World Series in person. But, my favorite sporting event by far is the World Cup. Ever since I was blessed to be able to attend every match played in Orlando in 94' and experience the passion of the global game and each countries fans, I have been hooked. Waiting 4 years between each tournament is absolute torture and now it will be 8. Now that we are only 2 months away, I am having to relive this disappointment each time I think about it. I should be eagerly counting down the days in anticipation of taking off work and getting up early to root on the US with my kids and friends. I'd rather have a performance like 98' instead of missing those magical matches where we would have a chance to make some noise. It will obviously not be the same pulling for England, only to lose in a shootout in the quarterfinals. And my other team is the Netherlands. Can you imagine the Dutch or Italians despair? Sheesh. They don't have as many other sporting options to take the place of the World Cup. I'm still looking forward to it,but man is it painful. Okay, I'll put down the booze and stop venting here. Time to cry myself to sleep.

Italy was the biggest fail. What a colossal frick up.

I think it’s gonna be Germany vs Brazil in the final. Germany won it with so many young players it was scary.

I’m over it. Just sick of the Mexico commercials and want those fricks to lose.

Spain also looks really good. France, on paper, look loaded. It might be a fun tournament.

Yeah, I might hate those dirty Mexicans more than I do bama. Hopefully Germany comes to play out the gates. I'd love to see them fail to advance, but even so, they can't get past the round of 16. Really trying to get pumped for this summer, but it's lacking the luster. Just hoping for a fun tournament. Brazil 14' was incredible!

Rooting for France, but I think most of their players not playing on the same pro team will do them in. Germany has Bayern Munich, Spain has Barcelona, while Italy has Juventus. Not the case with France.

What I love most about the world cup is going to the bars with all your friends. The atmosphere is always great. Its gonna be depressing.

It did in 2006. Italy just held onto its old players too long, like France did in 2010, USA in 2006 and this cycle. Spain in the last WC is another good example.

We didn't hold onto old players too long this cycle. We just didn't have anyone to replace them with.

I think Spain is going to have something to say about this.

Germany, Brazil, France, Spain, and Belgium. Id feel confident in any one of those to win it all. Everyone else is on a much lower level.
