Everything I've read on the subreddit says it would only be a loan.
I don't watch Barca very much, but is he at all like Neuer? I wouldn't be shocked at all if Pep just starts axing motherfrickers regardless of the homegrown quota rule and just goes into the league with 24 players.

He's absolutely a Pep type GK.
Just like Neuer in terms of being "great with his feet" and more comfortable tending goal from just outside the opposition's penalty area.
Still young and does seem to have even more WTF moments than Neuer where he'll create a lot of needless danger seemingly just to show how good he is with his feet or how far out he comes to cut off passes.

Would he leave BVB? I honestly look at Liverpool as a lateral move unless they are going to pay him way more salary. If salary is the concern, then BVB can easily match it.
If I am Christian, I am starting to play on one of the better sides in Europe at 17 with a terrific supporting cast with a manager that clearly believes in me. He has little to gain and risks a ton to make a move to a new club in a new league right now.
Am I missing something?

Well Liverpool don't really have any wingers. Ibe, Ojo, and Markovic on loan. The rest of our attackers are more suited to play centrally. He could legitimately be a first choice winger at LFC, as opposed to a squad player behind Reus. Not saying he should or shouldn't, just pointing out first team minutes could actually be easier to come by at Liverpool for him.
That said, I don't see him going anywhere any time soon

Hummels to Bayern isn't what people are trying to make it out to be. Hummels lived most his life in Munich. His wife is from Munich, his parents live in Munich. He spends almost every minute away from soccer in Munich. The decision to move to Bayern is about being with his family. I can see being disappointed if you're a fan but I think it'd be ridiculous to hate him for it.
