Yeah, no shite. None of these "swap deals" ever come to fruition. Just the thought of it seemed crazy to me.

ETA: And I've found Miguel Delaney is generally reliable. So, if he reported it, I feel like an approach along those lines was actually made.

Newcastle released Gutierrez by phone call (along with Taylor)
quote:

Ryan Taylor was told he was being released by Newcastle in a phone call from John Carver, who then asked the player to pass the phone to team-mate Jonas Gutierrez so the Magpies boss could tell him he was going as well.

United secured their Premier League status on the final day of the season.

"John Carver rang me and told me the club weren't going to offer me a new deal," Taylor told Sky Sports News.

"Then he asked me to pass the phone to Jonas, which was unbelievable."

Finally, he was asked to comment on news reports suggesting he was unhappy in England.

‘[It is] quite a simple answer,’ he said. ‘It’s always a bit more difficult in the first season for adaptation, but I have no reason to leave this place, I love it, the fans love me and I want to stay.’

We all look forward to plenty more goals from Chelsea’s number 19.

More Marseille news. OM is after Stambouli from Spurs.

Gignac has offers from CSKA Moscow and Galatasaray.

Lol at Draconian Sanctions.

It looks like Andre Ayew has chosen to go to Roma. Not shitty Newcastle.

He probably didn't want Ashley giving him one of those stupid fricking massive mugs with the contract.

I don't think it's a done deal though he has been seen in Rome twice recently with his agent and the Roma DS.

It kind of seems that Roma has been stringing him along a bit while keeping options open.

That said, I tend to think it would somewhere like Tottenham, Inter ect that he would land if not at Roma even if he would have to backtrack from the obligatory "I want CL football" statements.
