Well lewa causes a problem there, his refusal to go anywhere but bayern drastically reduces the bargaining power of bvb to sell him to anyone, including bayern

So Bayern would get him on a major discount.

Does that make it where it is either keep him and hope for another great season or sell him for 15m euros?

Did Bayern ever make an offer officially? I thought BVB stonewalled the thought of Lewa moving once Gotze was sold to Bayern.

Well they are a financially stable club with record profits, a massive stadium, huge support and a fantastic squad and manager. One could easily say they would rather please their fans than cash in for money they don't really need.

Good points - I didn't realize BVB was set up that well. Changes the situation immensely if financial drivers aren't primary consideration.

As a fan, I would be torn...here you have a great talent, but he doesn't want to be a part of your club and wants to move to your counterpart at the top of the league.

I think they lowballed? Not sure

But yeah its either sell really cheap and let your competition get better now or use him for a year and lose him anyhow. Unenviable position

Bojan on loan to Ajax.

I think/hope this is a good move for Bojan. In retrospect, it would have probably the much better move 2 years ago.

Bojan has about the best attitude you could ever hope for and is a talented player that could well develop into a very good player.

He got a bit of a bum deal leaving Barca just to be stuck behind skyrocketing younger players like Lamela at Roma and El Sharaawy at AC Milan.

He's good but not really at the level of either of those two.

Some of the blame falls on the absurd valuation though. If Barca hadn't set the buyout at a ridiculous €40m but, say, €15-20m, Luis Enrique / Roma may not have pulled the plug so drastically and gone solely with Lamela so soon.

Still, it was clear from his first couple of matches that even if Roma owned him they'd probably look to loan him to club where he'd play all the time. This became even more clear when Luis Enrique began calling up 17 year olds from Roma's Primavera squad to spot start in front of him.

I can almost guarantee it was a tactical bid to get under Madrid's skin.

Reports in the ‘Daily Star’ claim that Tottenham Hotspur are trailing Spain Under-20 international Jesé.

The Castilla forward’s performances in Segunda División this season have seen him become one of Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas’ priorities as he looks to strengthen his attack at White Hart Lane. And the Portuguese coach’s interest in the 20-year-old could also pave the way for Gareth Bale to move in the opposite direction.

The Welshman is a prime transfer target for Madrid president Florentino Pérez and recently-appointed coach Carlo Ancelotti. Jesé’s contract at Real Madrid runs until June 2014. However, the young Spaniard is pessimistic over his first-team opportunities at the Santiago Bernabéu, and is yet to decide if he wishes to sign a renewal on his current deal.

Jesé’s arrival in North London would offer Villas-Boas an adequate replacement for Bale, leaving the Spurs boss more likely to countenance the departure of his star player.

Although the two clubs may seek a formula to cheapen the respective deals for Jesé and Bale, Tottenham will hold out for the highest figure they can – despite their awareness that they will be forced to sell Bale sooner or later.

Speaking this week, the former Southampton player admitted: “I prefer La Liga”.

Jese is an adequate replacement for Bale?

If this article is to be believed, Forlan will sign for TFC tomorrow or Tuesday and could play this weekend.

LINK /

Henry-ish cash.

He should be fine if he plays up top. MLS usually takes more athleticism in the midfield than a lot of older players have. Forlan is still in good shape, but for that kind of money you probably don't want him putting miles on in the middle of the pitch.

Probably not enough money for his goal scoring record but I doubt Pep liked him much

I knew he wouldn't go for what transfer market has him worth. No top team needed him plain and simple.

Villa to AM for 5.1mm euros? What a fricking steal...

Glad he's not going to Tottenham..

edit: supposedly these are the terms..

Villa to Atletico for 3 years for 2.1m €. 2m added if stays next year, 1m added if will stay after. Barcelona will get 50% of next transfer

any chance that the gomez deal gives a jovetic move a chance? he's only interested in juve right? would think the tevez move killed that as they now have vucinic, llorente, tevez, matri, giovinco. would like to see what jovetic could do at a bigger club
